I assume the DVDs you're watching are for Smallville (season 1)? How is it so far? —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:42, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

A lot of these look like they need to be deleted. The problem is that they probably depend on IMDb, which "predicts" a release year right from when a project is announced, not factoring in any procrastination or delay. Definitely needs some scrubbing. I'll see what I can do when I have the time. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 19:45, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, a lot of these tend to be projects whose announcements the fan base would get excited about. I see these knee-jerk articles created way too soon for films like these, rather than films by respected directors. A good place to look for a film's production is The Hollywood Reporter -- if a film is under the production listing, it's OK to create the article. If a film is under preproduction or preparation (development), then factors still exist that could halt the project before it starts getting produced. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 19:50, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
I've removed a great deal of entries under "Unscheduled 2008 releases" that were false listings for 2008. Many of these projects haven't even entered production -- we shouldn't get people's hopes up. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:17, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Hahaha! No, I'm not mute, I'm deaf, but I wear one of these. How did you know, by the way? I don't have a YouTube account, actually... I don't frequent it often enough to dedicate an account to it. It's simple enough to click on publicly available links. I remember that you made a YouTube video of yourself before, something about taking some time off Wikipedia? —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:20, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
No, it's OK to chat with one another on user talk pages. I do it all the time with Bignole and Alientraveller. I consider it relationship-building among editors, as long as that's not all you use Wikipedia for. The three of us still contribute massively. So we can shoot the breeze back and forth. :) I'm working on 2009 in film now -- there are even more false listings there! Can you answer my earlier question, though -- where did you see about my deafness? —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:25, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
That makes sense; I guess there's some discussion in there about that. I don't make a big deal out of it, though; I'd rather that other people perceive me based on my contributions. As for reading online lips, I'm not so grand at that. I tend to utilize English subtitles or closed captioning for most things. A lot of stuff on YouTube, I can't always follow. Stuff that doesn't need dialogue, like parkour, free running, crazy stunts, physical humor, are what I've enjoyed on YouTube. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:30, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Helpme

{{HelpMe|Why isn't the bot archiving this? TheBlazikenMaster 19:42, 2 December 2007 (UTC)}}

Hello BlazikenMaster, take a look at the instructions for Werdnabot, on this page. The formatting must be done exactly as shown on the page, using substitution, for the bot to understand it. Copy it from the /pre box, fill in the proper parameters, and paste it exactly as formatted, and it should work. Hope that helps! ArielGold 19:55, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Just a quick question

{{HelpMe|Was I right to redirect gun movie to action film? TheBlazikenMaster 23:39, 2 December 2007 (UTC)}}

Hello BlazikenMaster. Since that was a newly created redirect you made, and not an existing article, it seems valid to me that if someone searched for "Gun movie", a redirect to "Action film" would be relevant. Please read about redirects at Wikipedia:Redirect to learn more and read about when, and why they are made. Cheers, ArielGold 23:44, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

re:Barnstars

Anyone can give a barnstar for anything. It's absurd. I created my usertag after seeing a user give another user a barnstar as a reward for his diligence in giving barnstars. I don't believe in ridiculous over-use of awards. It's like the modern American school system, rewarding people for mediocrity and trying to make everyone feel special. I'm apparently not the only person with this view - I've seen another user who said he would consider being given a barnstar an act of vandalism. Some guy (talk) 18:17, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

RPP

Couldn't hurt, there has been consistent vandalism there for several days now, and no productive edits besides reversions.--Cúchullain t/c 20:24, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

In Universe tag for Neighbour Jones

Hi, just wanted to respond to your revert of my change at the Neighbour Jones article. I thought the use of the phrases "in the comic", "in the story", and so forth made it pretty obvious that the article made a good attempt at keeping it out of universe. I agree it needs more references; maybe you'd agree to change to it to the Unreferenced tag? Konczewski (talk) 15:57, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

ROTK

Looks like Liquidfinale beat me to it. The discussion about Germany was held at Talk:The Lord of the Rings film trilogy#German, where the same editor attempted to amend the matter back in July. The consensus seems to be against including Germany due to the lack of verifiable detail about its involvement, so the editor shouldn't have tried to seek his way again a half year later. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 01:48, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Abraham Lincoln

There were five diffs that caused concern for me. The two that I considered the biggest problems, though, were actually not what I thought they were. It appeared he had deleted images, but he actually had not. The other three were things such as switching the wikilink deringer to Henry Deringer for some reason. While both point to the same page, the change is bad (perhaps not vandalistic), because Lincoln was shot with a Deringer revolver, not with (or by) the man, Henry Deringer. Additionally, nearly all the edits were simply cosmetic, and didn't significantly improve the article, leading me to believe that the editor was hiding his bad edits with these multiple cosmetic ones. Anyways, I'll leave your revertion as it stands, though I think that some of the edits were completely unnecessary, as it appears I was mistaken about the image deletions that concerned me most. English spelling

Nope, its correct from where I'm sitting. Please see American and British English spelling differences. Alientraveller (talk) 17:29, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Special:DeletedContributions

Well, since I'm not an admin myself, I wanna ask someone who is. What does this feature do exactly? Does it show the Contributions of someone that edited on a page that's removed now? TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 19:12, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Found this after a quick Google search, might be of interest. Tiddly-Tom 19:17, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Deleted edits remain visible to administrators, via Special:Undelete, but since they no longer show in Special:Contributions, they used to be quite difficult to search for (unless you knew a particular page name to look for). Special:DeletedContributions was designed to mitigate that problem by allowing searches by user, rather than by page name. Hope that makes sense. Not sure how much documentation is out there, for it. – Luna Santin (talk) 21:11, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Future films

I'd be glad to help you find out more about future films. A few of my favorite resources are listed below:

You should take some discretion with these websites, though. These websites sometimes do not get their information from the best places. Sometimes they rely on anonymous scoopers, which is a no-no for verifiability. (Can't blame these websites, though -- rumors and speculation help them keep traffic high.) What I've also done is set up Google Alerts so I capture headlines about films through Google News. Take a look at this screen shot of my separate Gmail account for such purposes. This way, I can get headlines from usually reliable sources. Besides the resources above, it's really a mix of different reliable sources that one has to hunt down. You can tell from some of the future films on which I've worked that they can be pretty varied. Any future film you want to know more about? I've tried to keep on top of most potential blockbusters. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 01:59, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

WP:PROTECTED

I was just scanning the list of double redirects at Special:DoubleRedirects and noticed the problem. ThundermasterTRUC 13:28, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

No, you had redirected it to a redirect. ThundermasterTRUC 08:30, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Helpers

Hey BlazikenMaster, as a holiday present, I decided to make you a honorary member of the Helpers. Don't worry, you won't have do anything. It's just like getting an honorary degre at a collage, all you have is braging rights, you're not a full-fleged member.--BrianGriffin-FG (talk) 17:09, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
