Speedy deletion nomination of Static Man edit

A tag has been placed on Static Man requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. September 2010 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Uga Man 00:29, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Cooltext468340940.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:Cooltext468340940.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:04, 5 September 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Acather96 (talk) 10:04, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Warning edit

You already received several warnings by bot that your image uploads were incomplete, yet continued to upload nonfree images. Do not upload any more images until you learn how to properly label and provide rationales for nonfree images. I am going to roll back the edits you have made, as the articles you put improperly done nonfree images in already had images that were fine. If you continue to upload inappropriate nonfree images, you may be blocked from editing. Seraphimblade Talk to me 16:59, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:Machete-movie-poster2.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Machete-movie-poster2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Akerans (talk) 17:02, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Robocopposter.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Robocopposter.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:05, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Edits from August 30 through September 5. 2010 edit

Looking at your edits for the above time frame points up many, many issues:

Articles edits:

  • While some of your edits to Stir Crazy (film) were helpful, WP:Films has specific guidelines it uses for the formating of information in film articles, especially within the lead section.
  • Manic (film) - This is not how you add an image to an article. You seem to have gotten the hang of it now. This should not have been returned to to fix the problem you left behind.
  • Thor (film) - Test edits like this should never be made in an article. If you are unsure how a certain function wil work, please test it in a sandbox not on an actual article.
  • The Green Hornet (2011 film) - Your ediits made here contain multiple issues:
    • Removing information without explainaition.
    • Reordiering actiors for whit what appeares to only be personal taste.
    • Seperating information for its apparent source.
    • Serious over linking of common words and terms.
    • Creating a plot summary for an unreleased film.
  • Superman (film)
    • This is an unacceptable edit summary to explain the changes you made to the article.
    • And this edit is including improper links along with the information you are inexplicably adding.
  • Halloween: Resurrection - This would require sourcing the orginal title formatting.

Static Man - Recreating an article multiple times immediatly after it has been deleted, especially as a hoax, is not a good idea. It is disruptive and can lead to you being block from editing. You may also want to read Wikipedi's conflict of interest policy. If you should not be editing/creating an article on your own film.

Images:

All of the images you have uploaded are currently unuseable. All relate to material that is under copyright protection and for them to be useable on Wikipedia they must have the following on the file page:

  • The source of the image. This can be thatyou personally scanned it or the web site where you found and copied the image from. In the case of a web site, the url sfould be for the specific page the image is shown on not the home page for the site. Also, the original published source of the poster or film clip should be proveded in describing the image.
  • A licensing template. There are a number of these available to chose from on the upload page.
  • A fair use rationale (FUR). This incorperates the source and description as well as listing the article the image is used in and why the image is used there. The FUR is seperate from the licensing.

If you cannot provide these things, please do not upload an image. Continuing to do so will be seen as disruptive and can also result in you being blocked from editing.

Also not that without this information, these images will be deleted witin 4 to 7 days.

License tagging for File:The Green Hornet 300.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:The Green Hornet 300.jpg.

Image upload issue edit

If you cannot or will not provide:

  • A fair use rational;
  • A source for the file;
  • A source for the published image if applicable; and
  • An appropriate licensing template.

Do not upload images.

It has been explained to you what each of these things are and they are required for Wikipedia to use a non-free image.

Uploading non-free image in this manner is disruptive and counterproductive. Continuing to upload image in this manner will result in your ability to edit to be blocked for a period.

- J Greb (talk) 06:19, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

You were clearly instructed above to cease uploading nonfree images until and unless you fully understood the requirements for uploading such material. Instead, you continued to upload nonfree images which did not fully comply with the nonfree content requirements. You may, if you believe that you can avoid this issue in the future (either by ensuring that your nonfree uploads fully comply with the regulations or refraining from uploading nonfree content whatsoever) request to be unblocked using the {{unblock}} template. Continuing to upload nonfree content which does not comply with the NFC requirements is disruptive and wastes other editors' time to clean up.
