Re-draft in your sandbox

Hi, while cleaning up after changes to categories I stumbled across your sandbox. It looks as if it would be well worth merging to the article Martha Clarke, so I updated your sandbox with changes that have been made to the live article since you copied it. I mean no offence and hope this is helpful. I would offer further help if you were a newbie, but you appear to be doing good work already! Kind regards – Fayenatic London 20:45, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, Fayenatic! I appreciate the update. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 07:30, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Tzatziki

Where did you dislike the changes and additions I made to this topic? --Mühendis ve bilim insanı yazarı kişi (talk) 04:01, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

Mühendis ve bilim insanı yazarı kişi, dislike has nothing to do with it; my decision was based on Wikipedia's standards. The common name for this food in English is tzatziki. That's why the article is called Tzatziki, the infobox is labled 'tzatziki', and the first sentence of the article should begin with a mention of 'tzatziki'.

You removed references, which you shouldn't do without a good reason, or without explanation. Statements require reliable sources; one cannot simply assert that in Ottoman language, the word describes an herb salad, or that a food contains 128 calories per serving without providing a reference for that information. You removed an account of the origins of the name. For all these reasons, I reverted your changes. I hope that clears things up. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 04:44, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, please review sources

The correct percentaje of european heritage comes from the sources that apper in the data from two research published in scientific journals "Reconstructing the Population History of Nicaragua by Means of mtDNA, Y-Chromosome STRs, and Autosomal STR Markers". Retrieved 2019-07-15 and in Salzano, F. M.; Sans, M. (2013). "Interethnic admixture and the evolution of Latin American populations". Genetics and Molecular Biology. 37 (1 Suppl): 151–170. The correct data is 69(please review both reserch). The CIA Factbook source does not shows the source of it data like published census or researchs but the both research about the percentaje where made with scientific method and sources are pubished in scientifics journals. Thanks a lot.GRANADANICARAGUA (talk) 00:28, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

GRANADANICARAGUA, the CIA World Factbook is generally considered a reliable source. If you wish to debate that, please visit the Reliable sources noticeboard (though I recommend you search the archives, first - it has been discussed repeatedly). If you wish to contest its use in the White Latin Americans article, please discuss that on the article's talk page. Thank you. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 00:46, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Markku Savela

Hello, I saw your edit at Crocanthes epitherma, and I wondered how you know that Markku Savela is the editor rather than author of that website. Thanks, SchreiberBike | ⌨  04:08, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

SchreiberBike, Savela's assembled information and organised it, rather than writing it himself. (It's just as described in the lead of the Editing article.) This is not to minimize or disparage his work in any way: I find his site quite impressive, and a great resource. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 04:34, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
I'm still thinking about this. I think a reasonable argument can be made that you are right, but it is different from the practice I've seen in years of editing articles about taxa. I may bring the question to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Tree of Life to see what others think. I'll ping you if I do.
Also, I saw at this edit, you changed the URL to remove the section link to the individual species. Why do that, especially without changing the title of the link?
Thanks, SchreiberBike | ⌨  02:29, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
SchreiberBike, that change to a link was unintentional. Thank you for pointing it out. I've looked over my edits and fixed it and two others that I found. I think I'll leave the author/editor fields alone for the time being (but I ask your forgiveness in advance should I forget and change some). Cheers, BlackcurrantTea (talk) 20:09, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
I can't get myself worked up about this and it seems that no one else cares much either. I'll try it your way for a while and see how it feels. So, today I used Savela, Markku, ed. (April 25, 2016). "Cryptophasa chionotarsa Meyrick, 1925". Lepidoptera and Some Other Life Forms. Retrieved August 24, 2020. Keep up the good work. SchreiberBike | ⌨  22:06, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Apology

I just wanted to say I’m sorry for those edits I made and you’ve probably been hearing things about me. I apologized to them I don’t expect any of you to believe me or not hate me anymore but I just wanted to try to apologize. I made those edits because I thought they deserved to be what they were but I guess I was wrong. I’m no Wikipedia editor if you guys want to block or shut me down I’d be happy to delete my profile, again I’m sorry for the trouble I caused thank you. 0Detail-Attention215 (talk) 22:08, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Thank you, 0Detail-Attention215. Apology accepted. I don't hate you at all. Editing Wikipedia's not for everyone. There are indeed quite a few rules, and that takes some getting used to. Sometimes it requires a bit of effort to work within the rules, and to not take things personally. Please try to remember that on the other side of each username or IP address, there's a person. Thanks, BlackcurrantTea (talk) 13:08, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Disambiguation talk pages

Please don't create a talk page for a disambiguation page just to add {{WikiProject Disambiguation}} - see the documentation page for that template. The disambiguation WikiProject can identify its pages by their dab categories. Thanks. PamD 05:55, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

Ok. Thanks for letting me know. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 06:22, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

WP DAB

Hi! There's no need to create dab talk pages if all they're going to contain is {{WikiProject Disambiguation}}. You can see the template's documentation. There's no need to worry about any you might have already created. – Uanfala (talk) 09:47, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

Thank you, Uanfala. I stopped after seeing the message immediately before this one. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 09:54, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
Ah, how silly of me! Sorry, when I come whining to somebody's talk page I normally check in case it's all been resolved, but I never imagined that somebody else would have noticed (and cared for) such an obscure issue. – Uanfala (talk) 10:19, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
Without people who pay attention to the more obscure bits, this place would fall apart.MANDY BlackcurrantTea (talk) 11:12, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

Editing conflict?

I think we just simultaneously edited the page on the Mbempa effect and got an editing conflict? I am new here so I hope nothing went awry...Nomenenus nescio (talk) 16:28, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

Don't worry, Nomenenus nescio, that happened to me earlier. I use the back button and copy all the changes (because if I stay on the edit conflict screen, they vanish), paste them into a text editor, then go to the revision history and look at the changes the other editor made. Sometimes they've fixed exactly what I was fixing! If not, I go back and add my changes. It doesn't often happen in articles, but on noticeboards it can be a problem.

I'm about to leave a note on your talk page, so if you have any questions for me, just wait a few minutes, then post them there. That way we can keep the conversation in one place, on your talk page. Thanks, BlackcurrantTea (talk) 17:03, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

Valencian language

Hello, I had to revert your last edit because the previous user had made quite a mess (see my comments in the edit history). See if you can enter your changes once again. Sorry. Taurus Littrow (talk) 18:42, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Taurus Littrow, I was wondering what had happened. Thanks for letting me know. I'll take care of it. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 18:52, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Scientology

Not sure what the point of your warning was as I've been editing most Scientology articles for many, many years. As a reminder, you should check people's edit histories before placing such messages. Laval (talk) 11:12, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

I looked at the last several pages of your edit history, and saw that you'd recently edited articles related to Scientology. There's no record of your ever having been alerted to the discretionary sanctions. That's why I left you the notice. If you prefer not to receive them in future, you can add {{Ds/aware}} to your talk page noting the appropriate areas. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 12:05, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Getting back into things

Hey! Chances are you wont remember, but in the earlier months of this year you helped me with a lot of things relating to wikipedia. I haven't used wikipedia for months, and I know this likely isn't the best place to ask, but I wanted to know if you had any advice for how to start using wikipedia again. The main reason I stopped is because I grew bored of trying to find articles to edit, so I wanted to know if you had suggestions on what to do with wikipedia. I really doubt you'll be able to help haha, but thanks in advance, SnazzyInfinity (talk) 20:50, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Welcome back, SnazzyInfinity! I see I already suggested WikiProjects and you've met SuggestBot. One quick and easy thing you can try is clicking the 'random article' link until you find something that interests you. What kind of work do you like to do or want to do? BlackcurrantTea (talk) 08:14, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
Well, I found Suggest bot disappointing to be quite frank. I use to use the random article for a little while but it typically takes a while for me to find one to edit. I do however find articles like dead ends and other "special pages" quite interesting to work with. SnazzyInfinity (talk) Special:Contributions/SnazzyInfinity 15:31, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Now that I think about it, I like adding templates like Template:Underlinked to things through twinkle or whatever the tool is. SnazzyInfinity - Chat? 16:59, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Since you like working with special pages, take a look at WP:Database reports. Some reports are purely informational (Most edited articles last month), and some are things that don't need to be fixed (the pages in WP:Database reports/Articles containing links to the user space that are linked to the user space because they've been nominated for deletion). Then there are reports such as WP:Database reports/Linked miscapitalizations - most of those do need to be cleaned up, and they're pretty easy to fix if you've an eye for detail. IPBE

Do you mind if I answer your emailed question here? --Yamla (talk) 11:18, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

Yamla, all right. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 14:35, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
I see no requests from you in UTRS. That presumably means you made your request while not signed in. IPBE cannot be granted to IP addresses, only to accounts. And it sounds like you were making the request from a proxy. I want to be very, very clear, that may not be your fault or even anything you have control over! Proxies are fine on almost all sites, but cause real problems here at Wikipedia because of how they are abused. So, I literally couldn't grant you IPBE at the time you made your request on UTRS. And in order to apply for IPBE, you have to "demonstrate the need" (see WP:IPBE). It certainly looks like you'd qualify, and the email list I redirected you to should be well set up to verify this. I expect the biggest question they'd have is why you are editing via proxies. I mean that entirely neutrally; it's very unusual but there are certainly good reasons why this may be happening. So, please understand that I mean no offense and expect you'll be granted IPBE with only a bit of "hoop jumping". --Yamla (talk) 15:19, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
Ok. Thank you for the explanation. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 15:28, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

Your email

Hello BlackcurrantTea,

I really appreciate your friendly words but I am a resilient person and do not intend to let a blocked editor affect my editing pattern. I intend to continue contributing as I see fit. Thanks, though. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 02:26, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

I'm glad to hear it, Cullen328. Resiliency's quite an asset, especially in these times. All the best, BlackcurrantTea (talk) 05:09, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

About Alan B. Miller's Article

Hey BlackcurrantTea, Thanks for Removing Excessive Tags On Alan B. Miller's Page Several Months Ago, But then, some of them Are Excessive Templates, Why it is Still Tagged. When I'm Removed tortoiseAndPigeon's Revision on this Article, Admins Busted Me That Removing Sockpuppets' Revision Is Breaking Wikipedia's Rules, Which is Completely False.

According to Your Statement on June 2, 2020, "This Article showed up in a list of pages with too many maintenance templates, and You noticed that the Dr42 Sockpuppet had added them all with this edit. Please don't do that". I Guess.

The article needs work, You've Been Agreed. However, the idea of tagging is not to apply every possible tag, but the most appropriate tags. For example, This Dr42 Sockpuppet Has added five different tags concerning the article's neutrality (or lack thereof). Only one is necessary to make The Sockpuppet's point; when The Dr42 Sock keep adding more, it's less likely that other editors will recognize a clear problem they might address. As You Can See, This Dr42 Sockpuppet has Been Blocked forever. Anyways, And No, I'm Just far By Talking About Users Has Been Blocked for Being Arbitration Enforcement.

Anyways, WP:OVERTAGGING explains this well. If you have any questions, the Teahouse is a great place to ask, or you can ask me here; I'll keep your talk page on my watchlist for a bit. Thanks!

Also, Defending Sockpuppets of Sockpuppeteers' Revision That Get Them Blocked for 1 Year, That's Why! 2A02:C7F:8C47:7D00:346C:95FA:191D:AE26 (talk) 18:59, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

IP, please stop removing maintenance tags from the article. You appear to be edit warring, and I have left a warning on your talk page about this.

Your over-capitalisation and unmarked quotes make your message a bit difficult to understand, but I take it that you're thanking me for removing some templates from the article, claiming that the remaining templates are unjustified because a sockpuppet placed them, and removing them because of this.

This is not the case. When an editor in good standing restores edits originally made by a sockpuppet, the new editor takes responsibility for these edits; the edits themselves should be viewed as having been made by the editor who restored them. Because other editors have restored the templates, you can no longer remove them with the excuse that the templates were placed by a sockpuppet.

If you wish to improve the article in order to resolve the issues noted in the templates, that would be welcome. You may also discuss your objections to them on the article's talk page. But stop removing the templates. Thank you. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 01:24, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
