{{Helpme|Sorry about that but as you can tell from my page i have made a page about one of my favorite young poets and thought i met the criteria but they are going to delete it what should i do? please help me!}}

First of all, you put the message inside the template. Which poet and which was the reason to delete it? non relevancy? Note: I am not a sysop, just trying to help. Davichito (talk) 23:22, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

So, I think it is that you need to tell the relevancy of the article about him. Maybe few people know him. Davichito (talk) 23:26, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Matthew Rosa edit

A tag has been placed on Matthew Rosa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 23:17, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. If you need help with something, please post your question along with the helpme template. We would greatly appreciate it if you don't use the helpme template unless you have a question. --NickContact/Contribs 23:12, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

  Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. --JavierMC 23:13, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Helpme request - answer edit

Hello. :-) So far you have done everything right. When an article is tagged for speedy deletion, an administrator will come review the article. If you would like to "make your case" that the article does not meet the criteria, you should place the {{hangon}} template on the article and then explain your position on the article's talk page. When doing this, however, do NOT remove the speedy deletion tag (or db tag). --NickContact/Contribs 23:23, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • You may also want to read the general notability guideline, which is here. Yolu'll need to come up with some sources for that article, how to do that is here. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:41, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Explanation edit

Hi. I'm the one who tagged the article for deletion and I just saw your request on its talkpage. I've explained my reasoning there. Hope this helps.    SIS  23:53, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thank you for your message. I reviewed the article almost two hours after it was created and nominated for speedy deletion, and it seemed to me to unquestionably meet the speedy deletion criteria. It is within my discretion to do this, I'm afraid. May I suggest that you work on your article off wiki? Having said that, the subject of your article seems to me to be a long way from meeting the criteria of notability for an article in the encyclopedia. Kind regards. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 01:06, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
