COI

edit

Please read wp:COI as you appear to have one with Highgate Vampire, I suggest you stop adding information relating to yourself and take it to the talk page.Slatersteven (talk)e

What Talk pages are for

edit

You have been adding content to the vampire article which other editors have been removing. The proper place to start a discussion is the Talk page of the article, not Teahouse. And yes, Wikipedia considers any editor other than people with no connection to the content of the article as having a conflict of interest. What you know to be true is not sufficient. What is needed are references to published content (other than what you have published). David notMD (talk) 18:03, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please read wp:or, wp:rs, wp:sps, wp:v. We have rather strict polices on what is and is not allowed in an article, and you edits violated most of them.Slatersteven (talk) 18:33, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

At least some of the material was copied from other websites, and thus was a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Please don't add copyright material to Wikipedia. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:10, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Bishop Seán Manchester. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. —PaleoNeonate – 08:27, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
