Article creation edit

Why did you decline it? BillTan8 (talk) 02:55, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi BillTan8, the reasons (with links to a few relevant pages) are listed on the draft and above. I'll outline them again quickly here:
First, the article was not very neutral, something important for an encyclopedia. Several parts of the article feel like their sole purpose is to promote the subject, rather than to provide an encyclopedic source. You can see this in phrases such as "From a young age Truth knew he was going to have an impact in society."
The second issue is that it isn't clear whether he meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines. You can find a link to specific guidance for musical artists above, but the general guideline is that someone should have significant coverage in at least three reliable, third-party sources. Looking quickly through your sources again:
    • Google shouldn't be used in a citation, because it is an aggregator of other sources of varying reliability. Additionally, Google results change over time, making it difficult to use that citation for its purpose, verifying information. Finding a specific website in Google results and citing that is a much better idea.
    • Spotify doesn't show notability.
    • Same for Soundcloud.
    • MusicBrainz appears to be a database, and thus doesn't constitute significant coverage.
    • Digiindie has no content in their article; and besides that, they describe themselves as "The World’s #1 Independent Entertainment and Promotional Services Blog"; press releases and other articles that are almost entirely written by the subject (which seems likely in light of "promotional services") are generally considered primary sources.
Not to say that those places can't be used as sources (although they're rarely ideal), they just don't by themselves show notability.
If you have any other questions please let me know; otherwise, feel free to keep working on the draft and resubmit it when you feel the problems are addressed; then someone else will take a look at it. LittlePuppers (talk) 04:55, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
