May 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Binksternet. I noticed that you recently removed content from Marjorie Dannenfelser without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. I've sent you a message on your page. Bh2win (talk) 16:08, 17 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

I've reverted the content, and I have started a discussion the article talk page. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 16:27, 17 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
You will need to declare your connection to the subject. How did you become aware of this request by the subject? --Deepfriedokra (talk) 16:28, 17 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
The subject has made the request via a private security company that offers services such as armed security, digital forensics and data scrubbing. Bh2win (talk) 16:31, 17 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
If Dannenfelser asked for security services because of "harassment and threats", then the cat is already out of the bag. There's no way she can un-publish the nine sources I listed that name Arlington as her place of residence and work. And naming a fairly large metropolitan region as residence doesn't endanger an individual. Such endangering would come from listing her street, house number, phone number... stuff like that. Request reason:

Greetings, I am trying to edit the page for Trinity Christian School of Fairfax, located here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity_Christian_School_(Fairfax,_Virginia), but our public IP seems to be blocked. We're not sure by what user (student or faculty) that blocked our public IP. I see the reason is for vandalism. We'd like to be unblocked because our marketing department frequently makes a change to our page as the history of the school changes. Please let us know if this is possible. ~~

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. You forgot to tell us your IP address so we can't investigate your claim. You can find this using WhatIsMyIP. If you don't wish to provide this publicly, you may use WP:UTRS to provide the IP address privately. Yamla (talk) 18:50, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I certainly hope this isn't a shared account and I certainly hope your marketing department isn't editing about the school without properly declaring their conflict of interest, as required by WP:COI. --Yamla (talk) 18:50, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock reviewed |1=Greetings once again, forgive me for not providing my public IP address. Here it is. 174.77.152.58. This current account is my own personal one. As you can see by my activity I do not edit Wikipedia often. Regarding the conflict of interest, they have made updates to the page for years and managed updates - to my knowledge.

If they've been doing so without declaring their conflict of interest, this is deeply inappropriate. What account have they been using? --Yamla (talk) 19:04, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
That IP address is blocked anon-only, meaning anyone is free to edit from there provided they sign in to their account. The IP address is indeed blocked from editing anonymously due to a number of inappropriate edits. --Yamla (talk) 19:06, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much. Bh2win (talk) 19:28, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I do not know, I think they were editing anonymously because they were getting the IP block. I told them to make an account and told them about the WP:COI Bh2win (talk) 19:29, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Nothing more to be done here, then! --Yamla (talk) 19:34, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
