Manny Villar

edit

Hi, here are just some of the sources that say Villar's family was poor, along with selected quotes.

These are from the references already included in the article, many of them from before the presidential campaign. TheCoffee (talk) 09:01, 6 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's ridiculous to say that because the word "poor" isn't in his official bio it shouldn't be on his article. I suppose by that logic we should remove all the negative info from the article? See the above sources, there are tons of reliable and neutral references that his family was poor and if you insist on reverting this I am going to fight it. TheCoffee (talk) 03:19, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Simple/Humble does not contradict the fact that his family was poor, as stated in all the other references. Many other official sources from Villar do state that he is poor. TheCoffee (talk) 11:08, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I have added a reference where Manny Villar says he is poor. There are not six citations on that single fact. Please read Wikipedia policy on Disruptive editing. TheCoffee (talk) 13:27, 8 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
If you continue to remove sourced information from the article, I am going to block you from editing. TheCoffee (talk) 16:11, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
All those links are editorials from anti-Villar columnists, not realiable sources. Simple/Humble does not necessarily mean middle class, this is common sense, and none of your points raised contradict the fact that Villar was poor. TheCoffee (talk) 10:21, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
See Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. TheCoffee (talk) 10:30, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, none of those points contradict the indisputable fact that Villar grew up poor. For every biased opinion column you provide there are a hundred neutral sources that say otherwise. TheCoffee (talk) 14:06, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have provided a source where Villar himself insists that he was poor in response to those who have said otherwise. TheCoffee (talk) 14:53, 13 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
It's here.
  • The senator also decried insinuations that they were from the middle class and not from the lower class.
  • "Some groups have the gall of spinning tales that I did not come from the poor. I’ll never get tired of saying we were once squatters."
  • "My siblings and I were born in Sta. Maria Street in Tondo. The nine of us slept together on a single mat and mosquito net"
  • "Pinapalabas ngayon na kami’y hindi mahirap. Hindi naman tama yon"
