List of highest-grossing Bollywood films edit

Please do not fill in the missing entries in the tables in this article. As explained in the edit notice (which you should see above the edit window when you edit the page), inline comments (which should appear next to the text your changing) and on the talk page we cannot have the full tables for copyright reasons. Continuing to add this material could lead to you being blocked or the page protected from editing although hopefully it won't come to this. Feel free to discuss on the article talk page although it seems unlikely that will we ever be able to include the full list. Dpmuk (talk) 20:44, 2 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

its not copyvios or copyright violation.Telugu and tamil versions of Don 2 and Ra.one are given for worldwide and its totally different from BOI figures.u can check. also BOI tables listing is different from here .total 44 films are here.there its absurd). i have not mentioned ra.one at 202 cr and don 2 at 206 cr. u can check the data. also jab tak hai jaan is not in BOI tables.its an old table. i am putting recent updated figures with table listing. Also Highest-grossing Bollywood films adjusted for inflation,on the lines of List of highest-grossing films.the table listing is different with different data .Please check once .dont do anything immmeadiately. There are still several possible problems with this so I've reverted for now, please discuss on the article's talk page before restoring. The possible problems are:
  • The source in the article still gives BOI as the source and you only list sources for a couple of films. If the source for the other films is BOI we still have a problem.
  • If there are different sources for different forms then combining them in this was way is probably original research, as well as posisbly a copyright violation, and so not allowed on wikipedia unless the sources quoted are simply publishing facts (more on this below).
  • If instead there is another single then this likely suffers from the same copyright issues as the BOI list (again more below).
The main cause of the issues is that as things currently stand it appears there is no simple collection of box office receipts in India and instead any list, or indeed single value, relies on some creative input on how to use the data that is available. According to wikipedia attorney's this is enough to attract copyright protection so we have to rely on fair use for what we do publish. Again wikipedia attorneys have advised us that top x lists are unlikely to be fair use hence the rather bizarre tables we do have. As this is a copyright concern it is normal wikipedia practice to err on the side of caution so please discuss this on the articles talk page before restoring the text. December 2012 edit

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Zaheerul Islam without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, Jim1138 (talk) 10:58, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:Satyagraha under fire poster.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Satyagraha under fire poster.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ---zeeyanketu talk to me 10:40, 18 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
