Welcome! edit

Hi Bentpuc
Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! As I can see you already know please always sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Personally I have only been seriousely editing for a few months, it is really easy after the first difficultes, so just keep buggering on. You might want to write a few words about yourself on your Personal page. Even though you dont think you have anything to put there, a few words will secure that your name will no longer been in red Take a look on some different editors talkpages to get inspiration, there is really many different ways to create ones own page. Again, welcome!

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/David Karmi edit

Hi Bentpuc, I hope you are enjoying being a part of the wiki. You left a comment on the David Karmi page saying that you thought the article should be accepted yet you didn't accept it. I was just wondering why this was? Callanecc (talk) 07:53, 29 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Every time i tried to accept it.. it said i did not have the permissions to do so. So i did ask for permissions for me to be able to do it. which were declined and the person did say that he thought that article needed a lot more work.. My opinion was the article had been started and had some substance, if it was accepted then anyone would then be able to come and add to it.. But i think i was wrong..Ben Hudson (talk) 16:37, 29 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello. As the creator of the article I can say we definitely have no more work to do on the article. We are waiting for it to be accepted; the sooner the better. Editorial4 (talk) 20:59, 29 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • I have declined the article (see reason on article). If you need any further help please leave a message on my talk page. Callanecc (talk) 02:13, 30 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Articles for Creation urgently needs YOUR help!

Articles for Creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 2715 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our Help Desk.

Do you have what it takes?
  1. Are you familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines?
  2. Do you know what Wikipedia is and is not?
  3. Do you have a working knowledge of the Manual of Style, particularly article naming conventions?
  4. Are you autoconfirmed?
  5. Can you review submissions based on their individual merits?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add {{AFC status}} or {{AfC Defcon}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions.

PS: we have a great AFC helper script at User:Timotheus Canens/afchelper4.js which helps in reviewing in just few edits easily!

We would greatly appreciate your help. Currently, only a small handful of users are reviewing articles. Any help, even if it's just 2 or 3 reviews, it would be extremely beneficial.

Can you provide a specific example of how this article could be improved? It does not seem to read like an advertisement to me. Question About Article Declination edit

Hello you recently declined my article on Business Intelligence Markup Language. I left a lengthy response at the first reviews talk page addressing the concerns from the original declination.I referred to this response when I resubmitted the article. You did not leave any comments accept to decline it for not being in a neutral point of view. As stated in my response to the first reviewer this article is written in similar format to all other computer language articles on Wikipedia. I would like to know how this article is not neutral. Mentioning the company who developed is an integral part of its history the same as mentioning Microsoft in the C# or Visual Basic articles on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Boxerbi (talkcontribs) 13:48, 22 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Articles for creation Backlog Elimination Drive edit

Hi Bentpuc,

You have signed up for our contest to eliminate some of the massive AfC backlog. Because you are new to the Wikipedia, I'm not sure this is the best way for you to learn about the Wikipedia. I have reviewed two of you reviews (I or someone else will go through all of them). One you declined, needed a little touch-up then I approved it. The other decline was correct, but for the wrong reason. Articles for Creation is possibly one of the most contentious projects on the Wiki (we get a lot of flack from everyone). Even people who have been here for a considerable time, when they move to AfC, do some practice reviews in order to learn all the rules and requirements (Do's and Don'ts). Many quit AfC soon after joining. We are happy to have you here, and if you want to work at AfC, that will be great. If you want to continue with the contest, not a problem. Make sure you read and understand the instructions here: WP:WikiProject Articles for creation/Reviewing instructions. Also, you should know these pages very well: WP:NOTE, WP:SOURCES. Lastly, if you don't know something or are unsure, you can ask pretty much anyone for help on their talk pages or on IRC. Good luck, enjoy, and thanks. -- :- ) Don 17:14, 22 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

P.S. I just saw the section above, David Karmi. Don't let people intimidate you. A lot will try. -- :- ) Don 17:20, 22 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank You edit

Thank You.Don I am grateful for your kind response and will spend the next few days reading the guidelines so i will be able to help effectively...Ben

Great, and NP. You reviewed nine articles I believe. Do you want me to put them on the drive page for you? (I can maybe do it correctly quicker) The contest still has almost a month to run. -- :- ) Don 18:07, 23 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

If you dont mind mate that would be great.. Ben

Okay, you have 10 submissions so far. You're pretty much guaranteed an AfC brownie, and you still have 28 days. Good luck. -- :- ) Don 20:52, 23 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

BBC article edit

Hi Bentpuc, thank you for taking the time for looking at my article on sex abuse in the UK. I appreciated that you looked at this. I'm looking to incorporate this, in the same way that there is a few pages on wiki on sex abuse in the catholic church. Seems logical to have some on the BBC since this is a major development in Great British public life and not restricted to one person. It would be helpful if we could work together to set this up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jsteve372/sandbox Many thanks, Steve

A Brownie for You! edit

AFC Backlog Buster

Congratulations, Bentpuc! You're receiving a brownie because you reviewed 13 articles during the recent AFC Backlog elimination drive! Thank you and keep up the good work! --Dom497 (talk) 17:42, 23 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Regarding declined Articles for creation/Tiny Island Productions edit

Hi there, I noticed that the article creation had been declined by you for being written like an advertisement and would like to discuss with you on what you felt was wrong with the writeup at the moment. This is actually the first article I've created from scratch (I did create a couple of articles a long time ago but that was when the rules were more lenient, so I'll disregard them for this discussion) so I could be doing something wrong. I am aware that there were 3 instances of "firsts" this and "first" that in the article which might ring alarm bells, but those were taken from the different referenced sources, which were all trade journals about the animation industry or news sites. Sorry for your troubles and hope to hear from you soon! I need to get this right as I'm using this article as a template for other articles I'm writing up for other animation companies Zhanzhao (talk) 23:38, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
