September 2013 edit

This is your last warning. The next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Martin McGuinness, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Murry1975 (talk) 16:28, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I made a factual change, that is all. The information was incorrect! I corrected it!
The articles fall under a 1 revert per 24 hour period, I suggest you revert before you get blocked from editing. Murry1975 (talk) 16:36, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Why would I get blocked from editing when I'm putting up factual information??? As I said before, the info was incorrect, I corrected it!
The information is incorrect, as they are Northern Irish politicians and are sourced and referenced as such. Your edits are disruptive and will lead to a block. Murry1975 (talk) 16:50, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
My information is correct, as even the dogs in the street know that when you're born in Northern Irish you are in fact Northern Irish, and a citizen of the UK and Northern Ireland! ie. a subject of her royal highness the Queen!
That is of no importance, as it is not a description of nationality but self-identify (see MOS:IDENTITY). Allow me to introduce myself, as one of many admins who has been asked to look at blocking you for disruption. If you continue edit-warring there's no doubt it's going to happen. If you're lucky it might even be prevented. The first thing you need to do is agree to stop making the same changes. Then, read the manual linked earlier. Then read WP:EW. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 17:08, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Then go ahead and block me if I've done something wrong, which I haven't! I've read the MOS:Identity and I've done nothing wrong! By my edit being changed back to an incorrect fact repeatedly that person should be blocked!!!! I don't tell people I'm American just because I wish I was from California!! I tell people I'm Irish, because I was born in the Republic of Ireland!
My intervention here is primarily to prevent you being blocked. I do not care what you change or what you write (within reason), but you cannot continue doing it repeatedly in the same manner. You did read those links did you? Do you think Gerry Adams has no basis to describe himself as Irish? -- zzuuzz (talk) 17:32, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
He has no basis to describe himself as Irish indeed! He is Northern Irish! I have contacted both users who insist on changing my edits to ask why.
Excellent. However you were warned about edit warring so have been blocked. You would normally now get a template like {{uw-3rrblock}}. -- zzuuzz (talk) 17:47, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Under the Irish Constitution both Adams and McGuinness are Irish citizens, so that nulls your point. If you have a problem with this write to your local TD. Article 2;

  • "It is the entitlement and birthright of every person born in the island of Ireland, which includes its islands and seas, to be part of the Irish Nation. That is also the entitlement of all persons otherwise qualified in accordance with law to be citizens of Ireland."

Murry1975 (talk) 17:44, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

They are Northern Irish! They were born in Northern Ireland! The fact that they call themselves "Irish" is their personal choice! Fair play to them! But alas they are "Northern Irish"!
Nope, WP:CONSENSUS for the guidelines here and contact your TD not wikipedia if you dont agree with the Constitution. Also a cautionary word, when your block is over editing either article in the same way, because of their nature, will result in another longer block. If you want help I will offer it, if you want to use here for your opinion, neither I nor the community will help, or tolerate you. Murry1975 (talk) 18:13, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Well I hope the other perpetrators of this "Edit Warring" have also been blocked! Otherwise I'll gladly take another block because I will be changing it back if they haven't! The only solution would be to delete my account, which I'm not bothered by at all, I just don't like seeing INCORRECT information!
Then stop typing it. Murry1975 (talk) 18:28, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

  Whack!
You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know you did something silly.

I have to keep changing it, it's INCORRECT!!!!!!!! They're Northern Irish(British)! If you quack it won't make you a duck!!!!!!!!!!
It's like the fuckin Nazi party up in here!
As an Irishman I'm highly offended that a terrorist from up the north is being associated with my country! Both of them! I don't care what other editors or moderators have to say on the matter! If they want to block me fine. As soon as the block lapses I'll edit it to how it should be! So they may as well delete me instead!

Troubles restrictions edit

I would advise you to take heed of what other editors are saying to you, the whole area regarding anything to do with The Troubles is very severely monitored by admins, if you continue to edit war you will not last long here as you will just end up with an indefinite block. So be it, but I can guarantee you that you will get blocked, but as an Irishman myself born in the 6 counties, I never had a British passport or a Northern Irish passport, but in fact I have the same type of passport as you an Irish one and I'm every bit as Irish as you claim to be. Read Bunreacht na heireann and educate yourself on who can get an Irish passport. Mo ainm~Talk 20:42, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

ANI notification edit

Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. See Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#User:Benobikenobi AndyTheGrump (talk) 16:19, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for edit warring immediately after prevous EW block expired, and promising to continue. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Floquenbeam (talk) 16:38, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I've also taken the liberty of saving everyone some time, and removing your talk page access. Please find some other website to participate. --Floquenbeam (talk) 16:39, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

On second thought, removing talk page access was probably premature; restored to allow you to formulate an unblock request, if you want to. --Floquenbeam (talk) 17:11, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

11th September 2013 edit

You should go here where a complaint has been made about you which could lead to your being topic banned or blocked. SonofSetanta (talk) 16:51, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Look up. --Floquenbeam (talk) 16:56, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

A word to the wise, or from the wise, whichever you fancy edit

You may be new but you have to understand there are rules here which all of us have had to learn and which you require to know as well. I too am an Ulsterman and I am a British ex-serviceman, including a number of years UDR service. You cannot force anyone to accept your views on nationality on this wiki. You have to remember that there are many people who find themselves living in the 6 counties who do not agree with the majority and see themselves as Irish. You can jump up and down all you want about that but if I can accept it I'm damn well sure you can too. The main thing is: if you want to make a difference here you have to accept the rules and conventions and stop trying to push an edit through which the community doesn't want and has already agreed a convention for. You're blocked indefinitely now so if you ever want to post here again you've got some grovelling to do and that includes an assurance that this sort of thing won't happen again. All of us will help you do that and give you whatever guidance you need to become a productive editor here. Just ask. SonofSetanta (talk) 17:04, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Benobikenobi I'd like you to e-mail me privately so I can discuss how you should approach the subject matter. I am currently on a topic ban so I cannot discuss the subject matter openly. You can use the internal e-mail by clicking this link   mail SonofSetanta . The approach you've been taking is wrong and it's never going to work on Wikipedia because the site is very well regulated and you won't get away with anything you try. I appreciate how affronted you feel but if everything is explained to you perhaps you will understand the processes better, can appeal your ban and come back to editing Wikipedia in a more collegiate fashion in the future and be a productive and useful editor. Of course you can always tell me to eff off, but I believe I can work with you so give it a try.
This page has now been excluded from the ban so you can reply here but do remember, I cannot discuss anything here relating to the troubles because of my ongoing topic ban. SonofSetanta (talk) 13:26, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Fuck the rules! I'm the only one they apply to! Why would I want to appeal my ban? I've done nothing wrong! I corrected an error on both pages! They are British! Because they are from Northern Ireland, not the Republic! It only goes to serve my own opinion that Wikipedia is full of nonsense and you can't believe anything it spurts out!!!!! If my ban is ever lifted I will continue in the same way! The same as a proper forum, if something is wrong you tell people it's wrong! Regardless of my personal views of these two gobshites they are in fact from a different country than me! And I'm merely trying to inform others that they are! Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness are both British (UK and NI)! I don't care what their passport says, I can go and get a British passport because of my background! But if I do, I'm still Irish, not British! Them two are still British! And I loathe that people with their background can just say they're Irish purely because they can!
See WP:GREATWRONGS and dual citizenship. Someone not using his real name (talk) 06:22, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
You're just showing us all that you don't have any comprehensive of the problem. Article 2 of the Irish Constitution prior to the Good Friday agreement conferred the right of any person born on the island of Ireland to claim Irish citizenship and that's what these people have done. This was ratified by the UK in the Eire (Confirmation of Agreements) Act 1938. So for God's sake stop the nonsense. We want you to be able to edit comfortably here but you have to learn the conventions and agreements which are in place. Your ban won't run out this time, you are banned sine die and won't ever be allowed to edit again unless you give undertakings to stop trying to defeat consensus. This isn't a forum: it's not a democracy: it's an online encyclopedia which has rules. If you are unsure of anything - ask, there's a lot more to Ireland north and south than you may have thought - and for God's sake stop swearing. If you are indeed an Irishman act like one and start to show some manners and respect. SonofSetanta (talk) 12:36, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
