Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:AliceVision Meshroom edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:AliceVision Meshroom requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://alicevision.org/association/, https://alicevision.org/association/#members, and https://alicevision.org/association/#history. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Re: Your message on my talk page edit

Hi, Benoît75011, I've just read your message on my talk page. I also saw that your draft article was declined by a reviewer. First of all, it's good to see that you're trying to improve the article. Well done on rectifying the copyright violation issues!

  • On the other hand, the reviewer was right to decline your article again. You still haven't managed to address the biggest problem with the article: the lack of reliable, independent sources. Let me clarify what is meant by that. These are sources which 1) are written by someone who is not affiliated with the company (so no employees etc.) and 2) are published by a reputable publisher (examples include The Guardian, Oxford University Press, the BBC etc.). See WP:RS for details.
  • If you find these sources, you must cite them with inline citations. You say on my talk page that you've added some into the article. Yet, I couldn't find any such citations in the article. I encourage you to read again Wikipedia:Inline citation.
  • A third point I would like to make is the potential for a WP:Conflict of Interest. I don't know whether you are an employee of the company whose article you are writing. If you are, you have what is called a conflict of interest (COI). Those editors with COIs are strongly discouraged from editing on their affiliated companies.
  • If you want to help the article get published, this is my advice for you: 1. Try honestly to find newspaper articles or books about the company. Do not include any material published by the company or its employees in the article. 2. Cite all your sources with inline citations. 3. If you have a COI, do declare it on your talk page and stop editing the article of the company. In this case, someone else might be able to improve it on your behalf. As it is now, the article runs the risk of being deleted for being close to an advertisement. Sorry I could not tell you anything more positive. With that said, I'm still around if you need help.
