Communication about LGBT section

Hi, you made a suggestion recently on the intersexuality page, and I would like to discuss how this would work. I am sorry to approach you this way, but I am not sure how else to contact you about it. Perhaps you could get back to me, perhaps via my own user pages, so we could talk further. Orphaned non-free image (Image:MarinSchoollogo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:MarinSchoollogo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 00:20, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

File:MarinSchoollogo.png is the reformatted image, I'm unclear why a whole delete process is needed here but go for it if you must. -- Banjeboi 00:41, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Why the history about Indonesia government killed , raped, tortured thousands Chinese-Indonesians is not talked about in Wikipedia page?! What do you think about "anti-Chinese violence"? http://www.colorq.org/HumanRights/article.aspx?d=Indonesia&x=Reward

I'm afraid that source is good only for background but not as a reliable source. You could start at Sinophobia and see if there is some possibilities there. -- Banjeboi 03:12, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. Nice to make a discussion with you. I hope you'll give your reply to me directly to my user-talk page.

I'm not sure what you mean? I just did reply to you, is there something else? -- Banjeboi 03:24, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Friendly advice

If you are planning to actually edit with this, I recommend that you prominently identify it on your userpage. It's the kind of thing certain unfriendly "Wikipedians" would try to use against you in a disagreement. -- Scjessey (talk) 02:23, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

That's some quirk, I don't sock and have asked on ANI to block it. I have no explanation how it happenned. -- Banjeboi 02:27, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Okay, that's totally weird. -- Scjessey (talk) 02:47, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Combined with the timing is also way suspect (sigh). -- Banjeboi 02:50, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

It's a brand new account, and that is its only edit. I have blocked for 24 hours and suggested at ANI that a checkuser look into it. LadyofShalott Weave 02:56, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you! Someone at wp:vpt suggested a system hiccup but if so it's a problematic one if it's putting under a differeent account name. -- Banjeboi 03:24, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, Floquenbeam (sp.?) and DuncanHill have convinced me it is probably a technical foul-up. I have unblocked Palaboys and apologized to him/her. If something else weird happens, let folks know. I'm probably not on much more tonight. LadyofShalott Weave 04:33, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Barney Frank talk page

Hi, I just left a message on User:Soxwon's talk page suggesting that if they want to refactor talk posts to which someone has responded they use some mark-up to show what they've added or stricken, or other comments they want to make. No need to get into a dispute, I hope. I haven't tried to figure out what's going on and, frankly, the bickering is so distracting I can't tell and don't want to invest the effort. No opinion on who is causing it or why but there is enough bickering to attend to on other articles... Cheers, Wikidemon (talk) 23:34, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi I appreciate a third party alerting them that the activity is being noted. I used the WP:REDACTED in the edit-summary which offers why we don't do such things and alternatives. They've pretty much takn up CoM's role and have been arguing and misquoting sourcing policies non-stop. Luckily they are building a good case for a page ban but the time has given the article a break and encouraged me to find even more sources so there is at least a silver lining! -- Banjeboi 23:38, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Wikimania Announcement on sign-in page - be gone

I have responded to your message at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Wikimania Announcement on sign-in page - be gone.

And I love the rainbow colours at the top of this talk page. And I just have to comment on the Leonard Matlovich text above: I live in Sweden, and some men try to get out of army conscription by stating they are gay. But the Swedish army has no problem with that, instead the army places them in a gay platoon. The reasons for that is unclear, perhaps the army thinks they thus will be happier, or not disturb other men, or not be bullied by other men, or perhaps they believe in the old Greek belief that gay men fight much better together, or probably all of those reasons. Several of my friends served in gay platoons, both in the army and in the navy. Funny thing is that those platoons usually also have about two heterosexual men, of course since those men tried to escape conscription by falsely stating they were gay. :))

Happy Easter!

On behalf of the Kindness campaign, I just wanted to wish my fellow Wikipedians a Happy Easter! Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 06:23, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you so much. I'm rather anti-consumerish myself but I do love Martha Stewart and she featured this fab egg-decorating trick with old silk headscarves and ties. Wrapping the eggs tightly with the fabric and using vinegar (*I think*) during the cooking process, the colour patterns will transfer to the eggs and look completely psychedelic. If you must do eggs that's the way to go IMHO. No comment on bunnies except that they're cute. -- Banjeboi 12:22, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

no sperm, just eggs

APK bought you some Easter eggs, but he had some mayonnaise that was about to go bad. He decided to make some deviled eggs instead. APK is really sorry about eating your Easter present, but promises to make it up to you on Cinco de Mayo. (although he's likely to drink your present) Happy Easter.

Well thank you! I have a very disturbing story about a girl who loved mayonnaise so much she ate a whole jar everyday. Turns out the empty jar was filled up each night by a witch with the puss from the large boils that covered her limbs. Not sure if this helps your egg and mayonnaise issues but I hope it helps in some way. p.s. In a pinch I guess the jar could be used for sperm as well but ... take your time; carpal tunnel and all. -- Banjeboi 12:38, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

You've got to be kidding. Perhaps you've only experienced the best this editor has to offer whereas I've only seen the worst? They've generally made sweeping accusations against me as well as other well-established editors of censorship, homophobia, personally attacking them, etc etc when all evidence suggests these are the actions they are engaged in. They have single-handedly gotten the Frank article fully-protected, twice. I think it's never been fully protected in the past. They've worked to remove sourced content re-added by consensus and replace it with negative material sourced to .. editorials. This is not the editing help any article needs. I only posted at ANI as I was sick of the non-stop edit-warring and accusations, personal attacks from them. Lo and behold, they've had a history of doing the same on the Obama and likely other politically-affiliated articles. Sorry, but I don't see ever compromising Wikipedia's policies on reliable sourcing and civility. -- Banjeboi 17:25, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Yep, I guess I have only experienced the best. My contact with child has been fleeting, with him giving me supportive messages on my talk page.
I am not familar with the issue, just sad that it is happening.
Happy belated Easter BTW, I hope this resolves itself, so you can go back to saving articles, which is your best talent. Ikip (talk) 18:21, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Well that ANI has been a veritable three-ring circus, which apparently is another trademark of their work. All manner of red herring and sidestepping responsibility has gone on. I would have settled a long time ago with a simple "gee, I guess I should have tried to talk this one out" but as soon as they got a 3rr the claws came out and it has been eye-opening to watch. There is also a good chance of some socks involved although I have no interest to dig through all that. CENSEI got banned as part of this and we at least got a nice documentation of their work so, next time these issues arise hopefully the drama will be quickly stopped. -- Banjeboi 18:40, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism

Please observe the overbearing vandalism of already previously blocked user 129.230.248.1, this time to the Moodiesburn article. Duncun O'Leod (talk) 09:42, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

This is a downside of editing but handle it with grace and it should work itself out. Remain polite and if it's clear vandalism just say so, if it's so poorly written but may help the article move it to the talkpage with a note. If that editor is just vandalising fall back on revert, block, ignore and hopefully they will tire. If they are extremely agressive - and really it has to be waaay over the top - you might get semi-protection at WP:FRPP. -- Banjeboi 16:21, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not sure I can help there as I don't know that I've had much but passing experience on those issues. When it comes to abuse though it has to be documented and even that isn't always enough. -- Banjeboi 17:03, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Category:Article Rescue Squadron WikiProject

For every category you create, you should specify parent categories to which it belongs. You can do this by listing the parents near the bottom of the page, each enclosed in double brackets like so:

[[Category:Article Rescue Squadron]]
[[Category:Hypothetical second category]]

I've added at least one parent to the category. I invite you to check my work for accuracy and completeness.

I am a human being, not a bot, so you can contact me if you have questions about this. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 18:12, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, we're still working it all out and we have some cats on templates which has caused issues as well. Appreciate the suggestion though, I think pushing into child cats might help the issues a bit. -- Banjeboi 18:28, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Sounds like a plan. Best wishes, --Stepheng3 (talk) 18:53, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Yea, there other dramas taking front-burner status but feel free to move around things as they seem fit, I know we should have templates as a child cat and maybe one for categories but my main goal is to get the templates cleaned up as it keeps putting users in there and we have a place for members already. Math is hard!!! -- Banjeboi 19:04, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
