Translating Benjamin Moore Norman edit

Hello. I see you are listed as a Spanish-to-English translator. Would you please consider translating this page? His article would be useful on the English Wikipedia, as it comes up on Thomas Affleck (planter)'s page. He published an almanac apparently. Please reply on my talkpage to let me know if and when you could do this. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 10:23, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Great news! Perhaps it would be wise to start a stub with 'underconstruction,' as I also asked the three other translators: User talk:Correogsk, User talk:Charlie the Pig and User talk:King of Hearts. They may not reply though, and I've asked each of you to reply on my talkpage, so they may see your reply. In any case, looking forward to reading this translation--and hopefully expanding it once it's been created. Of course, feel free to add more referenced info than the translation if you can. Thank you again.Zigzig20s (talk) 16:02, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Wonderful, but where is it please? The link is still red.Zigzig20s (talk) 18:27, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Found it. I'll fix the capital letters by moving the page first...Zigzig20s (talk) 18:28, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you; this is a great start. Let me know when you've finished your translation.Zigzig20s (talk) 18:36, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
What exactly do you mean in the lead by, "He was a beneficiary of a public offer by the author to return to the Mayan region and further his studies. With this information, Norman initiated, on his own and anticipating Stephens, a trip to the Yucatan Peninsula and wrote about it."? It sounds a bit long-winded. I already edited the end of the sentence to make it sound less POV, mind you.Zigzig20s (talk) 18:53, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

That sentence was a verbatim translation of the original Spanish, which was poorly written with limited information. As indicated previously, this was a quick first translation which I had intended to redact. Perhaps with your research of this individual it will be possible to further elaborate on this limited biographical information contained in the original stub.

Thank you; I agree that it is a good start. Are you a native English speaker?Zigzig20s (talk) 09:43, 5 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

w:pt:Population Matters edit

Hi, in case you have the time, I'm making a general request hoping that someone can tidy my machine code translation of the Population Matters' article mentioned. (Ultimately I hope to move the article to "População é importante" or whatever might be the best translation of "Population (as a subject) is important"). The article is currently up for deletion so I'm contacting a few potential translators. Please check: W:pt:Population_Matters&action=history to avoid wasting time. If the article is deleted I would still appreciate its development at w:pt:Usuário(a):Gregkaye/Testes. Any help with any population related article would also be appreciated. Many thanks Gregkaye (talk) 06:19, 15 July 2014 (UTC) w:en:User_talk:GregkayeReply
