Blenheim Palace

Sorry, I have reverted your addition to Blenheim Palace meantime as it seems promotional to me; details of an exhibition should also not be included until after it has taken place. Now that I've come to your talk page, I can see you are working on a draft article for the BAF and, after that has been reviewed as acceptable, it will be possible to add a link under the 'See also' section on the Palace article (red links are not permitted in those sections). Hi Sagaciousphil thanks for letting me know, I am new to wiki writing so I took your advice and tried to rewrite the addition by shortening it to its bare minimum using a neutral tone and no promotional language and deleted the bit about the upcoming exhibition but I see it's been deleted again. The foundation is a new initiative set up at Blenheim Palace by the Duke's brother and I think it deserves to be mentioned, if only briefly, on the Palace's wiki page. Please can you advise? This is what I think would be a good addition.. I would really appreciate you letting me know any specifics you don't feel are right, I thought this would be easier than me coding it all on the page and it just getting deleted again... Blenheim Art Foundation[edit source | edit] Blenheim Art Foundation (BAF) is a non-profit organisation set up to present large-scale contemporary art exhibitions within the historic setting of Blenheim Palace. Blenheim Art Foundation was founded by Lord Edward Spencer-Churchill, brother of the current and 12th Duke of Marlborough, Jamie Spencer-Churchill. Lord Edward has long held the ambition to launch a contemporary art programme at Blenheim Palace where he grew up as a child.[29] BAF launched on 1 October 2014 with the UK’s largest ever exhibition by Ai Weiwei.[30] The foundation was conceived to give a vast number of people access to contemporary artists in the context of this historic palace.[31]

Hi, I noticed that you had added a more concise version; what I've since done is take it out of an individual section and I've incorporated it into 'The palace today' section (see here). I tweaked the wording a bit more, not the most elegant of writing I'm afraid as I would also have liked to avoid the use of the word contemporary three times - if you can come up with alternatives that would be great! - and changed the date format in the refs to be consistent with the others already in the article.
