thanks for explaining, I have no idea how CfDs work StarM 01:41, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Yep, I use Twinkle. I mean, I know how to CSD but don't know the processes behind categories as I don't deal in them often/ever. StarM 02:08, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Can translate some Japanese, not fluent. Happy to try when needed. During weekdays my on wiki time is a bit limited. How'd you know my time in Japan? StarM 02:50, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
LOL, shows how much attention I pay to my own user page. Yep, I think I can beat Google translate so feel free to poke me, adn I'll do what I can. I know very little re: video games so some jargon even in English may be unfamiliar but when Iget it close you can clean it up :) StarM 03:14, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Presence (amplification)

I'm declining the speedy deletion for context on this one; there's enough context to tell what the article is about, and deletion can be handled through the pending AfD. - Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 03:29, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Articles for Deletion Log

Thank you for contacting me on my talk page. I believe I have fixed the issue and explained it in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Intelligence quotient. Please let me know if you have any further questions. KuyaBriBriTalk 20:28, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

De facto leader of the Beatles

Everyone knows Lennon was the leader of the group, although he was not the kind of guy who would boast and say "I am the leader", McCartney himself stated that he, George and Ringo all looked up to John because he was the oldest. McCartney may have tried to be the leader of the group when they were, "falling apart", but for the most part John Lennon was the leader of the Beatles. I am sure McCartney would say the same thing. Chasesboys (talk) 22:40, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Fair enough, but Look at the notes section on the Lennon article, I believe it is number 43 and 44, I believe that is reliable enough to say Lennon was the de facto leader. Chasesboys (talk) 22:56, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Steve "Sting" Borden

I understood what you meant by making the article then the links. I try very hard when I make articles. I usually try to give them a good beginning, and hope other wikipedians contribute to them, and make them better. Sting is a very respected and talented wrestler who did alot for professional wrestling, so I hope his dvds and interviews will get the recognition that they deserve.(LonerXL (talk) 03:51, 4 March 2009 (UTC))

I greatly appreciate your honestly about this!! What you said makes perfect sense. Tv and movies.... Entertainment itself is fake! It's just a temporary ecsape from reality.(LonerXL (talk) 04:36, 4 March 2009 (UTC))

Revert of vandalism removal

Please be more careful next time. You also warned wrong IP. I would appologize to the vandalism-fighting IP. Renata (talk) 20:57, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, ok, we all messed up :) Renata (talk) 22:39, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

RE:About adding images

I've been the same way with images. I generally mimic the text on similar images, like screenshots, cover art, posters, etc. The times I ran into something different I normally asked at WT:VG—because they were video game related. More generic questions can be asked at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Another good link to check out is Wikipedia:Ten things you may not know about images on Wikipedia.

The short answer about non-free images is that we should only use them when we can't adequate describe something with words alone. Like describing an increase in polygons in a 3D character model may not mean much to a general reader, but an image illustrating it will give them a clearer idea.

The most common problem I've encountered in my own uploaded images and others' is a weak fair use rationale (FUR). Basically, though the image is probably a suitable non-free image, its FUR doesn't really convey this because it is too ambiguous or lacks detail. Another common problem is excessive non-free image usage. Generally, the fewer non-free images the better. (Guyinblack25 talk 05:13, 8 March 2009 (UTC))

Why did you remove my edit this time?

I understand why you removed my edits to Henry Ford initially -- but why now, since I have sourced everything? Jrtayloriv (talk) 20:17, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Loud questions

I was all set to put a personal attack warning on your talk page, then I read further and did I ever LMAO?!?!?! That's how I end an emphatic question. Cheers! Ward3001 (talk) 02:19, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Media Take Out criticism

From a few months ago, but while it's clear that User:MTO Poster's had a significant COI, do you mind telling me why you thought unsourced statements should be kept as "legitimate criticism"? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 10:15, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, you are right. I see your next edit. There was just a number of people who seemed dead-set on including that and frankly I wonder if that couldn't have been handled better. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 02:17, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Henry Ford

I responded to your message in the discussion page for Henry Ford. Haven't heard back from you ... Jrtayloriv (talk) 21:32, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

I keep deleting everything on my talk page because I don't want it to be cluttered with conversations that have ended. Once I have finished a conversation, I delete it -- since there is no reason for it to be there anymore. So no, I have nothing to "hide" as you suggested. If you think I'm hiding something, you can feel free to look at all of my hidden secrets in the history page for my talk page, which is publicly accessible to anyone ... but please keep whatever you find super-secret.Jrtayloriv (talk) 02:06, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Re: Cuckoo's nest

I was just trying to clean up a mess with page histories. I don't know whether deleting it to get the old edits out was the best solution though. Graham87 01:29, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

All fixed, as best as I can, anyway. The main problem is that before December 2005, the history of the film article was at the title One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Some of it was also at the title One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (movie) and some very early history was at One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest (without the apostrophe). Just to make things even more difficult, there was edit warring in September 2005 about whether the film should be the main article, or there should be a disambig page at the title One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which is captured in the current history of the film article. It's quite apt that it should have such a tortured page history. Graham87 01:51, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
That's OK. I'm kinda surprised that no-one's done something like that before, as I've done weirder things with page histories in the past. Anyway, the report has been removed. It would have been better if you'd removed it yourself after seeing my message. Believe it or not, the AIV page can be manually edited sometimes. :-) Graham87 02:45, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
And your report was taken care of in this edit. Graham87 02:52, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Re: Why don't you warn vandals?

Apparently this is a user that has many, MANY sockpuppets, and according to Huggle, he had already been blocked by the time I did the reverts. So, what's the point in warning them? Matt (talk) 02:29, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Dyslexia

Dear Belasted: First timer needs help

Where did I go wrong on my post?

This was what I wanted to contribute in it first draft(see below), I added some ReadPlease to link the topics covered in Wikiland, URL's I think I may not have done correctly.

My 1st draft:

It also seems it was sent to Orlady for some input but I'm not sure. There are however, powerful "Management" tools which enable "print disabled" persons to excel in learning and comprehending the written word. Some of the management tools are text to speech software, Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (www.RFBD.org) and organizations such as Bookshare (www.bookshare.org).

Text to speech software will enable the reader to read up to 600 words per minute. Text to speech software varies in versatility, one which stands out is ReadPlease. ReadPlease ( www.readplease.com, Microsoft Windows-Based Software only ) has a freeware which is simple to use, the freeware is downloaded with a 30 day free trial period of ReadPlease PLUS 2003. ReadPlease PLUS 2003 has many tools which some of the other text to speech software also provide to enable learning, one such tool enables the reader to have Microsoft Voices pronounce the acronym's meaning, such as MRI would be instructed to pronounce the meaning of MRI as "Magnetic Resonance Imaging".

Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB&D), a national nonprofit, volunteer organization, has been the leading accessible audiobook library for students with disabilities such as visual impairment or dyslexia that make reading standard print difficult or impossible. RFB&D was founded in 1948 by Anne T. Macdonald.

Bookshare™ is free for all U.S. students with qualifying disabilities. Student memberships are currently funded by an award from the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). Bookshare’s goal is to make the world of print accessible to people with disabilities. With a dynamic leadership team, dedicated Members and capable partners, Bookshare™ is making this goal a reality. Bookshare provides text to speech software (VictorReader Soft Bookshare Edition by Humanware and READ:OutLoud Bookshare Edition by Don Johnston ..) for qualifying members.

Editing

Why have you warned me about the edit made to "Friends in Low Places"? This was a constructive edit correcting the grammar in the article. You have caused me to become dangerously close to losing my freedom to edit Wikipedia. Please explain yourself. 76.1.246.149 (talk) 00:16, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

It is no problem. I am sorry for my previous destructive edits; it will not happen again. 76.1.246.149 (talk) 00:22, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Don't worry

Some of my first articles were deleted, so don't worry about the AFD. Finding new topics to write about is hard and I'm glad you are trying. I know you will find topics to write on and expand. Cheers. MBisanz talk 03:08, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

I didn't write the article! Belasted (talk) 03:13, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

RE:We love Mario

Well, technically the proper place to mention that would be in the development of Super Mario Bros.. To my knowledge, that particular bit of info is not mentioned anywhere else. However, a proper source describing how the graphics used a palette swap to save memory space should be used. (Guyinblack25 talk 13:45, 20 March 2009 (UTC))

FFTA

Hey, sorry if I came out either offended or offensive in that- I honestly didn't mean to. I knew that Final Fantasy Tactics Advance wasn't part of Ivalice Alliance purely because A) It had contradicting story elements and B) because they don't have the logo on the game. There are sources that, when mentioning the games in Ivalice Alliance, don't mention Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, but none that directly say "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is not part of the Ivalice Alliance" (though I know I've read it somewhere). So if there isn't enough evidence there, I suppose we could delete it until I find a source- I'll defenitely be on the hunt for one now. Oh, and the IP that undid your original edit was me- I had forgotten to log in :P. Anyways, sorry about coming off strong, and I'll try to find a source! Twinwarrior (talk) 21:44, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
