Your participation in several AfDs

edit

Welcome, Bec-Thorn-Berry! I noticed that you joined the discussion at several articles for deletion today. Participation in the community is encouraged, of course, but your status as a brand new user means that your opinions might not be counted. Please understand that this is a common practice on Wikipedia, and it is necessary to prevent deliberate misuse of our discussion pages. Our discussion processes value consensus over raw numbers and reasoned debate over simple voting. However, please do make further contributions to Wikipedia and express your opinion on policy matters. Feel free to contact me if you have any queries about this. Thanks, riana_dzasta 11:51, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I want to second what Riana said. contributions like this probably will not be given much weight. AfD is not a vote, it is a gathering of opinions, so your opinion will be given more weight if you actually describe why you think an article should be deleted or kept, preferably basing your reasoning on relevant policies and guidelines. A few links that should prove helpful in understanding how deletions debates work:
WP:AFD
WP:DP
...and a few policy/guideline links that may be helpful:
WP:V
WP:NOR
WP:POV
WP:BIO
WP:BLP
WP:WEB
WP:MUSIC
WP:N
WP:LOCAL

Hope that helps.--Isotope23 20:01, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Notebook Lesson Deletion Vote

edit

FYI, your vote to delete Notebook lesson is being supressed by the articles origonal author. You might want to take a look at what has been done. Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Notebook_lesson Davidpdx 14:16, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bonny Hicks

edit

Hi. Unless you still disagree, could you retract your Delete vote at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Bonny_Hicks? I greatly expanded the article after your vote and consensus of everyone now, including the AfD nominator, is "keep". The article could be a Wikipedia:Speedy_keep but for your non-conditional delete vote. I realize your vote was good faith and respect that but as you can see by the article has transformed (see diff here). CyberAnth 02:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

TeckWiz's RFA

edit

Hey Bec-Thorn-Berry. Thanks for commenting on my unsuccessful RFA last month under my old name, TeckWiz. I'm now known simply as User:R. I've been very busy lately which is why you're getting now. I hope to keep helping and improving Wikipedia alongside you. --TeckWiz is now R ParlateContribs@(Let's go Yankees!) 16:55, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your support and comments at my RfA
Hi Bec-Thorn-Berry, It still amazes me that otherwise "anonymous" editors take the time to place !votes and comments on RfAs. Whilst I would have normally thanked you at the time of you leaving your message, the importance of my not appearing to be canvassing prevented me from so doing. Now that everything has progressed successfully I can finally thank you. I intend to uphold a style of good adminship and will welcome your further comments at any time in the future, even if they are in the form of admonishment. I will be happy to help as an admin wherever and whenever I can --VS talk 00:13, 28 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

RfA thanks

Hi Bec-Thorn-Berry. Thank you for your support and kind words in my RfA, which passed with 95 support, 1 oppose, and 1 neutral !votes. It means a lot to me to have your individual support and the collective support of so many others. I truly will strive to carry myself at a level representing the trust bestowed in me as I use the mop to address the never-ending drips of discontent in need of caretaker assistance.

My RfA

edit

Thank you for participating in my RfA. It was successful, and I am now, may God have mercy on us all, an administrator. Look at all the new buttons! I had heard about 'protect,' 'block user,' and 'delete,' but no one told me about 'kill,' 'eject,' and 'purée.' I appreciate the trust the community has in me, and I'll try hard not to delete the main page or block Jimbo. -FisherQueen (Talk) 18:11, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
