Hi there. I am not wheel-warring with you on this page, but just trying to test something. I don't understand why this category was needed, because I changed the code of Module:WikiProject banner to only populate a category if it actually exists. Did you find this category in Special:WantedCategories or somewhere else? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 22:08, 10 December 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, it was on today's run at Special:WantedCategories, and was indeed a redlink on the page when I checked it. So since "leave category redlinked and walk away" isn't an option at all, my only choices were either "undelete as non-empty" or "spend 15 to 20 minutes trying to investigate whether there's another way to make it go away without breaking everything else" — but with over 220 categories on this run (or about 80 more than normal), the latter was a non-starter.
- If you need further information, you may also want to look at Category:Disambig-Class Mumbai articles of Unknown-importance and Category:Disambig-Class Indian politics articles of Unknown-importance, because they're also categories that got deleted as "empty" on December 8 right alongside the Delhi one, yet were already non-empty again as of this morning (and are still non-empty as of right now) — and as they're obviously related to the Delhi one, the same issue may have been implicated in all three cases. - The only page I found in there was Talk:List of eponymous roads in Delhi. I have just reset the class back to Disambig but it is no longer populating that category. So I don't understand why my code is not working, or if something changed between 8-10 Dec. If you find another red category like this, can you let me know so I can explore further?
