Central Committee of the 6th Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party move

Hi

The move "Central Committee of the 6th Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party" is incorrect. The name of the party was "Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Bolsheviks)".. THere was another party named "Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Mensheviks)" in this time period. The party "Russian Social Democratic Labour Party" was dissolved in 1912 and replaced by these two organisations the very same year.. Therefore, move the page "Central Committee of the 6th Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party" back to "Central Committee of the 6th Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Bolsheviks)". That is the factual correct name.

AS for categories, I am currently creating organised articles such as this Category:Central Committee of the 27th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.. Which lists members and candidates of each term.. It will also contain the apparatus of each term, the Politburo, Secretariat, el cetra. This is the correct way of doing things. Page moved contrary to consensus on Talk page

Hi Bearcat, could you take a look at : Bill C-16, which has been moved from “An Act to amend the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code”? There has been discussion about the name on the Talk page in the past, and consensus seemed to be the former name, so I wouldn’t have thought it should be moved without discussion? Thanks. Indian rivers

Hallo, Mornoi River and Karanja River were on my watchlist so I noticed your edits removing Category:Rivers of India with summary "duplicate categorization; already in subcat", but I'm not so sure. Category:Rivers of India by state or union territory says it is a non-diffusing subcat of Category:Rivers of India (as well as being a container cat). That statement seems to me to imply that its child cats, the Category:Rivers of Assam etc, should be treated as non-diffusing subcats of Category:Rivers of India, so that rivers should be in both. I looked for similar examples: Canada isn't treated that way, but French departements are, so that French rivers get two levels of categorisation. In the US, Category:Rivers of the United States is a diffused parent cat of the state cats, but Category:Rivers of California is a non-diffused parent of the county-level cats. Not sure where that gets us. Chinese rivers have no notes about diffusion. PamD 19:51, 1 May 2023 (UTC)

Query

Hello, Bearcat,

I ran across a fairly new editor, User:Bebel2024, who has created dozens of new categories for several articles they created about particularly grisly crimes in Brazil. The categories they created do not fit into the existing Wikipedia category structure, some are close but are basically duplicates of long-standing categories we have for births, deaths and other annual categories. I removed quite a few categories they created whose only contents was/were one of his articles but since you have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of categories on Wikipedia, I'm hoping you could look over several of the articles they created, remove any unnecessary or anomalous categories that I missed and add any ones you think might be appropriate. Thank you for any help you can offer. I don't want to squelch their enthusiasm but they need to make use of the existing categories that fit the subject of their articles. Thanks! Liz ^{Read!
