LGBT categories
Hello, Bearcat,
I hope your new year is starting off well! Recently, an editor has been emptying out categories for gay and lesbian artists of certain nationalities as you can see in Category:Empty categories awaiting deletion. Since I know you care about LGBT issues and categories, too, I thought I'd ask for your opinion and request that you look over the situation.
On one hand, we discourage editors from emptying categories "out of process", especially systematically like this and prefer them to use CFD. On the other hand, the categories being emptied were created just over a year ago by a sockmaster so they are not longstanding categories that have been around since the early days of Wikipedia. Perhaps it is preferable that individuals are categorized in the broader LGBT categories than specifically as "gay" or "lesbian" actors or musicians. I'm not really sure about this categorization change which led me to your talk page. I have posted a note on the editor's talk page asking for them to start using CFD but I haven't reverted their edits. Thanks, in advance, for checking this out. Liz Read! - To Eric Liu，You have repeatedly displayed hostile, and prejudiced behavior. And the template creation and editing you mentioned in zhwiki are constructive operations for sure, if you have any question you can go to the talk pages of those templates and give your opinion instead of personal attacks. - It is solely based on solid observation. I don't think you know what a proper category should be like, especially since most of the categories created by you were empty and uncategorized (whether on zhwiki or enwiki), and probably have an inappropriate title. I'm not "harassing" you, it's just fact that your casual edits often have to be taken care of. - Please provide examples for categories I created on enwiki which were empty, otherwise your accusation of "most of the categories created by you were empty....." is clearly falling into the scope of personal attacks. Hello. I'm not really sure how this works, but I am trying to have deleted an old thumbnail of my picture. It was uploaded incorrectly and I had only noticed it 15+ months after the fact.
