2021 Nunavut election

I think you were a bit quick with some of the information. The results are still unofficial and two of them, Amittuq and Cambridge Bay, need a recount. They haven't been sworn in so they can't have started their terms yet. It looks like the middle of November when they will be sworn in. 'Everybody knows everybody:' Nunavut voters head to the polls in territorial election. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 06:45, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

It's got nothing to do with not updating things or adding articles for the new people but that the newly elected people are not yet listed as being members of the legislative, https://www.assembly.nu.ca/members/mla. We should get it right rather than rush to be first. I've updated the template to indicate the current and newly elected. By the way. Once the newly elected members become the current members then Joe Savikataaq will cease to be premier until they appoint a new one. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 07:38, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Just because something was or was not done on the past is no reason to stop or start now. If that was the case nothing would ever change and things change here because people edit Wikipedia and make changes. And this has nothing to do with starting articles about those newly elected.
Wikipedia works on sources and the source says that these are the current MLAs and these are the unofficial incoming MLAs. Wikipedia should not be declaring that these people are the current MLAs when the results are not yet official. And it really doesn't matter if that wasn't what happened before. You had this which shows that Joe Savikataaq is the premier. But if the newly elected Solomon Malliki and others are the current members then Savikataaq can't be the premier but the GNU seems to think he is, Honourable Joe Savikataaq. And while looking that up I found that the Minister of Community and Government Services, Jeannie Ehaloak made an announcement on 28 October 2021 which is three days after she lost the election. Louis Riel talk page may need an admin's look-see

Hi Bearcat, could you take a look at the Talk Page for the article on Louis Riel? For context, it may also be helpful to look at the most recent edits to Moxy's Talk page, and also my Talk page. Thanks. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 02:48, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Élie-Jacques Jourdain

The article Élie-Jacques Jourdain has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Mere passing mention in source, notability not established with substantive sources and fails WP:NPOL

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Exhaust (band) albums

A tag has been placed on Category:Exhaust (band) albums indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! About Draft:Wade Wilson (film character)

I first want to say that I did not contribute to Draft:Wade Wilson (film character), but I wanted to clarify that the article seems to not be about Wade Wilson the out of costume Deadpool, but the version of Deadpool from the X-Men (film series) and other such films. (Oinkers42) (talk) 05:20, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

I fail to see the distinction between "the out of costume Deadpool" and "the version of Deadpool from...films". Bearcat (talk) 05:26, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
Is it that you fail to see the distinction between film Deadpool and comics Deadpool? I think that is what the draft is trying to say. (Oinkers42) (talk) 05:29, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
I fail to see how they're two separate topics that need two separate encyclopedia articles. Bearcat (talk) 05:30, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
There is plenty of drafts of Marvel Cinematic Universe versions of the characters (see the entries in Category:Marvel Cinematic Universe characters). You can see this is a common thing. (Oinkers42) (talk) 05:33, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
I don't care about "is", I care about "should be". I also have much more important things to do with my time than to argue about a simple comment on a draft that you say you didn't even contribute to — so if you disagree with my comment then you're perfectly free to resubmit it to the AFC queue at will, and I have no responsibility to take any stick from anybody about my opinions. I would suggest that you think about the implications of the fact that I wasn't the first editor to reject the draft for the exact same reason — if you want to argue, then go argue with one of them, because I'm not interested in engaging in any further discussion about this, and if you disagree, well, nothing about the AFC process requires me to change my mind before you can resubmit the draft and try to get it past a different reviewer. You're free to do that anytime you want, and don't need to argue with me about it, because the process does not require me to withdraw my opinion before anybody else can offer theirs. Navigation

Hallo, Thank you for creating The Color (band). When you create an article like this with a "disambiguated" title, please make sure that the reader can find it from the basic name (ie The Color ), by adding or expanding a hatnote, or adding the article to a disambiguation page. This helps the reader to find the new article, and also reduces the chance of a future careless editor creating a duplicate article with a slightly different disambiguator. I've fixed this one. Thanks, and Happy Editing. PamD 09:52, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Omnicron salting

Hi Bearcat - Back in 2018 you WP:SALTED Omnicron. I'd like to insert this draft: User:Infoman99/sandbox/Omnicron at that page. Can you un-salt the page? Thanks. Infoman99 (talk) 05:07, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks. Infoman99 (talk) 17:23, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

AfD nominations

Hi - Proust, Hugo or Tolstoy never wrote anything so short and all that would have been necessary to include in the nomination: "The nomination was based on searching for better sources and failing to find any". I can only judge nominations on the basis of the text in front of me. FWIW, in both positive and negative terms, I would hope we all try very hard not to draw conclusions about editorial intent from an editor's contributions. May I humbly suggest you add that sentence to your palette as part of your standard nominating text. :) Kind regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 22:58, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

Administrators will no longer be autopatrolled

A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. To find out when the change has gone live or if you have any questions please visit the Administrator's Noticeboard. 20:05, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for Deletion

Without drawing unwanted attention, I wanted to thank you for your role in deleting the page (comment on May 13, 2021).

As the actual subject, this was primarily filled with falsehoods perpetuated by an unwell individual and I had been trying to figure out how to take it down previously.

I understand you were significantly involved in previous reviews and apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks,
