WP:NPOL request for advice

At the AfD of Jen Perelman you mentioned that a non-office-holding candidate may still meet NPOL if the candidacy is "historic" for other reasons. I have argued at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Marquita_Bradshaw that her primary win is "historic" in this way but I would be grateful if you can take a look and see if you agree. I am not trying to "canvass" you (and since we both agree that Jen Perelman is not notable, I have no reason to assume you'll have the opposite choice on a different article) but I would value your opinion as a more experienced editor. If you have time. Thanks! HouseOfChange (talk) 03:36, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

Deletion Reconsideration Request - Incorrect assumption, Billboard Canadian Hot100 chart position for Audio Playground - (A Little Respect) song on A Little Respect song page

Good evening Bearcat; thank you for everything you do at Wikipedia!

I am one of the two producers and member of the band Audio Playground now established in Montreal. Our entire first single historical was deleted on the "a little respect" song page as it was stated that the reason for the deletion was that our song version release never peaked at #77 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart and that the chart source was an unreliable fake chart which we never heard of. Below is the link from Billboard.com showing that our song peaked at #77 on the Canadian Hot 100 on the week of May 15th 2010

https://www.billboard.com/charts/canadian-hot-100/2010-05-15

We also peaked at #1 for several weeks on the then Canadian singles sales chart and #11 on the digital song sales chart with over 15,000 units sold according to Nielsen Soundscan (please let us know where to send documentation regarding sales data as you deem necessary).

May we please ask that you revisit the deletion of our song art, history, chart and versions on wikipedia. If you require any information from us to further ascertain the Canadian billboard chart or Nielsen Soundscan sales history of our band Audio Playground's first release "(A Little) Respect"; please let us know at your earliest convenience.

Thank you for your assistance in revisiting this deletion decision that has completely taken us by surprise

Best,

Walt Heyer

Five years ago, you nominated Walt Heyer for deletion, noting inadequate and possibly temporary notability. In the intervening years, he hasn't gone away, and I've resurrected a copy of his article and updated it a bit at User:Jclemens/Walt Heyer. I don't see the deleting admin as active, so I thought I'd get your take on it before I presumptively moved it back into article space. My goal is to get it back into articlespace for the community to collaborate on, while making sure that everyone agrees that CSG G4 does not apply. Do you think the article, as modified by coverage since its 2015 deletion, clearly establishes notability? If not, what else would you like to see added? Cheers, Jclemens (talk) 20:58, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

I've gone ahead and moved it into mainspace, but that doesn't mean I don't see some ongoing problems with it. Feel free to highlight (or just fix) any you see. Cheers, Jclemens (talk) 04:12, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

Unprotection request for Between article

Hello, I was looking at the Between (TV series) article and noticed it was autoconfirmed by you in 2015. Since you were the one to protect it I am requesting that you unprotect it since a long time has passed since and the original dispute was solved in the talk page a while ago I don't see the need for indefinite protection anymore. Thanks. Terasail[Talk] 21:25, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of L'Action (London, Ontario)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on L'Action (London, Ontario) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Actor or actress...

In this edit you wrote: "moved page Susan Wright (actor) to Susan Wright (actress) over redirect: we disambiguate women as actresses, not actors (see e.g. Barbara Hamilton (actress)"

Clarification please. Is this your personal gut feeling, or can you point to a wikidocument? Geo Swan (talk) 05:49, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

Removing provincial links on all of the Canadian television station articles that considered WP:OVERLINKING (including CFCF-DT and CFJP-DT)

Hi Bearcat, sorry for your edits. To avoid future edit warrings, the user has made edits on removing provincial links is User:Mvcg66b3r including Montreal-owned Bell Media stations CFCF-DT and newly sister station CFJP-DT. I am restoring the edit back to User:Mvcg66b3r's version of both CFCF-DT and CFJP-DT. If you don't like it, you might restore it back on all of the Canadian-related television station articles. And the you might talk to User:Mvcg66b3r to ask a question on why did you remove on all of the provincial links on all of the Canadian television related articles. I hope User:Mvcg66b3r has got the answer for a little confrontation. Remember please talk to User:Mvcg66b3r before reverting it all. I thank you and please keep it healthy and active on your edits. Once again, thanks for your time. 2001:569:74D2:A800:E812:9F5D:ADFF:2C97 (talk) 06:34, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

Robert Borden's height

Hi Bearcat. In your admin capacity, can you take a look at the repeated attempts by Marystuarts to add her personal estimate of Borden's height to the infobox? It's been reverted three times, twice by me, since she started doing it April.. Seems too frivlous to go to admin complaints, but it's getting tiresome. --Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 02:02, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

Stubs last

Hallo Bearcat, could you please add {{uncategorised}} before any stub templates, not after, per WP:ORDER? See this edit. Thanks. PamD 14:32, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Brothers and Sisters, Êtes Vous Ready?

The article Brothers and Sisters, Êtes Vous Ready? has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged as unsourced since 2007; merge to Brothers and Sisters, Êtes Vous Ready?

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Another Believer (Talk) 03:43, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Indef block on IP address

I notice you indefinitely blocked 66.91.35.165. It's unusual to indefinitely block an IP address. Did you mean to block it for a limited time? --Yamla (talk) 13:54, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

Hi there. I was looking at the Warner Bros Interactive page and I noticed it is still part of Home Entertainment. Other pages state that it is part of Warner Bros Entertainment directly while Home Entertainment is moved to WarnerMedia Commercial. Which one is true? WarnerBros.com site states it is still a division of Home Entertainment. Is that an error? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Galagahunt (talkcontribs) 16:33, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice.

Amanda Figueras

Since you edited the page Amanda Figueras and you’re an administrator, can you review it for me? I created it two days ago but nobody has reviewed it. Thepharoah17 (talk) 20:09, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

quick explanation on differences pichenotte, pitchnut, crokinole...I will expand more in coming days Comment

1) Round pichenotte also known as crokinole has round playing surface, a hole in the center, and 8 pegs ( like hazards in bumper pool). Both resemble curling on ice. 2) Square pichenotte has 4 corner pockets ( as in billiards ) and no posts, very similar to carroms. Carroms and square pichenotte are played like billiards, with a cue/striker piece and the aim is to sink your pieces into the 4 pockets. I don't know what the difference is between square pichenotte and carroms. sorry. I only play the round game. 3) Pitchnut [1] is a square board with 4 corner pockets and posts, and a ditch carved out, just inside of the rails, so it seems a combination of round pichenotte and square pichenotte. This seems to have been invented by a specific person, Achille Scalabrini, in a specific place, St. Edwidge, in Quebec. On their website, the history is given [2] I will post more soon. Request AfD / WP:SIGCOV advice

I am interested in maintenance tasks, and consequently have lately been participating in AfD discussions. Most have been pretty straightforward.

However, Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Majid_Ali_Jaunpuri has me bowled. I have not voted in the discussion, but based on my reading of WP:SIGCOV I feel that the one sentence mentions of the subject in the cited documents are passing mentions, and don't rise to the level of significant coverage. But a bunch of editors seem fairly content with the sourcing. Therefore, I seek some guidance in this matter - not necessarily on how to vote in this matter (I am fine not voting in this AfD at all), but rather so that I understand the standard of sigificant coverage as I continue to participate in future AfDs.

I want to clarify that this is not an attempt at lobbying/campaigning either for or against deletion of this article - I am genuinely seeking advice on WP policy.

I posted the question at WP:Teahouse but the person who created the article is a host there, and replied with the same arguments. And since someone replied, I assume nobody else at Teahouse will now look at the question.

In my browsing of AfDs since I started a few weeks ago, you seem to be fairly involved in the cleanup. Hence this message to you. Apologies if this is too much trouble.

Full disclosure: I am aslo asking TheSandDoctor for advice, as he seems to be fairly active in AfDs too. — Ad Meliora TalkContribs 15:27, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

Notability of Winston Churchill Boulevard

I'm leaning redirect on this one, but would like some input first. I found 2 secondary independent sources with somewhat significant coverage:

I assume that the first one wouldn't count for WP:GNG because it's more about Winston Churchill and anti-racism in general. I'm less sure about the second one, though if there was such thing as a WP:ROUTINE guideline applying to these sort of articles, this would count. The first X

I didn't see your reply until just now, and the discussion has been closed.

My point was an individual who is an unelected candidate can still measure up to GNG, due to the extraordinary media coverage, triggered by their being the first, and should not have their article's deleted simply because they don't measure up to POLITICIAN.

I started a google news alert on Madinah Wilson-Anton, and I got a hit today, that talked about her as a first. [1] Geo Swan (talk) 15:40, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
