Homosexual people

Why was this deleted? I didn't even get a notification about it?★Trekker (talk) 15:07, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

Please be nice and reply where I asked. Not on my talkpage. This is why you also have a talkpage, so discussions can be kept at one place.★Trekker (talk) 15:15, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Wikipedia does not have a rule that my reply to your question has to be posted to my talk page rather than yours — some people prefer that, some people don't, and it's not my responsibility to read your mind as to your preferences. So no, you don't get to label me as "not nice" for replying on your talk page rather than mine, because there's no rule that I was required to reply here in the first place. Bearcat (talk) 15:40, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Very nice of you to not show even a little bit of respect when someone tells you something. And actully, it's widely prefered for people to keep discussions at one place, since it's easier to follow that way. But sure, youo can do it your way if you insist.★Trekker (talk) 15:48, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Firstly, you didn't "tell me" anything about your preferences at all — I am not on the hook for "not listening" to something you hadn't told me in the first place. And secondly, no, it is not "widely preferred" to always respond to user talk page discussion on the original talk page — some people do prefer that yes, but others don't, and there is no standard practice in that regard that's binding on all editors to follow. Bearcat (talk) 15:52, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
It seems pretty clealry prefered to use one place to keep coversations, again since it's easier to have an overview that way. No idea how anyone would assume that it isn't when they've been on the site as long as we have. How would it remotly make sense to move a discussion to several places unless you assume the person you're talking to is a complet newbie who doesn't know how to keep track of talkpages? And saying "Please be nice and reply where I asked. Not on my talkpage" is clearly telling you something. Again, you seem to be pretty rude to me for no real reason, accusing me of things I havn't done and dissmissing my comments complelty. Did me creating the category Homosexual people and dissagreeing with you about it's merits really make you upset at me?★Trekker (talk) 15:58, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
You did not say "Please be nice and reply where I asked" until after I replied on your talk page — so my replying on your talk page was not "disrespecting what you asked", because you didn't ask it until after I had already replied. On articlespace talk pages, yes, we try to keep discussions together. On userspace talk pages, however, there's less of a hard rule, because people genuinely have different preferences about that for very legitimate reasons. Bearcat (talk) 16:03, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
My disrespect comment was about you dismissing my concerns altogether by claiming that I labeled you "not nice", which I didn't do, you assumed that in your own head after you saw my comment.★Trekker (talk) 16:10, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Your comment began with the words "Please be nice and". Any person with an IQ higher than their shoe size would understand that as indicating that having acted differently than the rest of the sentence constituted not being nice. Bearcat (talk) 16:25, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
No. Once again that's something you seem to have assumed because you seem to be very overly sensitive during this ordeal. You're reacting with completly uncivl language, you seem to care about things not being pejorative yet you're insulting a ton here. Yeah I'm on the autism spectrum, have dyslexia, and English is not my first language, and again, sorry if what I wrote above came of bad. For christ's sake I apologized below if I come across poorly and said I think you're a great editor. I don't want to be unfriendly with you.★Trekker (talk) 16:44, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Real talk, I absolutely don't want to fight with you or anyone, I just don't see why you seem to be so dismissive at me for what is just minor things. I've seen you edit before and you seem to be a great editor, I hope this doesn't sour your opinion of me as an editor either. I'm sorry if I came of as obtuse myself.★Trekker (talk) 16:23, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

ArbCom 2019 special circular

Administrators must secure their accounts

The Arbitration Committee may require a new RfA if your account is compromised.

Administrator account security (Correction to Arbcom 2019 special circular)

ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.

Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.

We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.

Chronology of eugenic feminism in the United States

Hi, I noticed you made some minor edits to this article. This article is largely duplicated WP:COATRACK content that was removed from eugenic feminism, which itself is an article with similar problems as well. I haven't felt this was urgent since it's a very low visibility article and I'm not sure if AfD is appropriate or not. Can you advise regarding what should be done here? Cheers. TV article title changed to title not used by series

Hello, Bearcat. As an editor who's interested in TV articles and articles relating to tv programs, I thought you may find of interest the comment I posted in the talk page of User:NinjaRobotPirate regarding the official title of the series "The Haunting of Hill House" being changed to "The Haunting". Ciao! Pyxis Solitary yak 08:07, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi! Fyi, I filed a WP:RM#C request for move: Requested move 7 May 2019. Pyxis Solitary yak 12:03, 7 May 2019 (UTC)

Other wikis and WP:UGC

Some of your recent edits ([1] [2] [3] [4] [5]) cite a wiki as a source in the edit summary; however, other wikis are not reliable sources per WP:UGC. We should focus on getting reliable sources into the tables whenever they are challenged by anyone, but we should not be citing the Drag Race Wiki when making these changes. Thanks. Kan Jong-woo

Hi, I see that you’ve nominated this article for deletion, and this got deleted. I accidentally wrote draft previously without knowing the subject appeared in many other Korean related article, and moved from draft to article created this situation, which I’ll never do again. I apologize for such a naive action. But I can assure you that the references provided was Korean national level newspaper and google level search engine whom verified his albums and music appearance on national TV. I’m not sure whom to contact to retrieve the article so that I can improve it, but if you have ability to even move it back to Draft stage, I would really appreciate it. Thank you. Recreation?

Given that you salted Steuart Pittman, you might want to know Draft:Steuart Pittman was (re)created today. Smartse has additional information on why this particular editor should not be editing this particular article. - Bri.public (talk) 18:04, 21 May 2019 (UTC)

Sorry if that was a bad ping, the information was posted to COIN here on 23 April. - Bri.public (talk) 18:08, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
I was already aware of the COI issue on this, but thanks for the heads up about the recreation of the draft. Bearcat (talk) 18:10, 21 May 2019 (UTC)

Am I crazy, or...?

Possible AfD-Mike Kaplowitz

I'm reaching out to get a second opinion on the notability of the subject of this article. Definitely promotional and while I'm leaning towards it being a case of WP:REFBOMB I'm still on the fence on whether or not Kaplowitz passes GNG. Best, GPL93 (talk) 19:20, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Remove AfC submission 2019 with the United Nations

Hi Bearcat,

I notice you have just moved Draft:2019 with the United Nations back to the draft page. I was actually looking to find a way to remove my submission from the AfC queue. After submitting the article, I realized that AfC was not the most appropriate place to submit my article, as I have had enough experience with editing Wikipedia articles. I was wondering if you could help me remove Draft:2019 with the United Nations from the AfC submissions list as I could not find a way without administrator privileges.

GNG

Hello. I respect your opinion on the project and even though I think I may already know what you may say about this AFD: I want to know anyway. Before I get neck deep in the GNG of the subject I want to ask if you have time to look. I located some secondary sources were the subject was covered. Thanks in advance! I may submit it to ARS for fixing. Ashley Liao Lubbad85 () 18:33, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
