Dmitri Novgorodsky edit

Thanks for your note on my user page. I think the article fails on a couple of Wikipedia policies, one being too much linking, see WP:ELMAYBE and the other being where the sole or main contributor is the subject matter, see WP:COI. Both are worth a quick read. The reason I spend so much time adding categories is because it points the article to an area where other Wikipedians with more specialist knowledge can look at and edit the article. For instance there may be other categories "American classical pianists" or "naturalised Americans" that can be added, or there may be parts which need some rewriting. Come and join us and check some articles where you have specialist and independent knowledge --Richhoncho (talk) 06:19, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

With humble apologies, I should have double-checked your posting history, rather than just the article! Still think the references prove that Novgorodsky is performing - the externals are superfluous. In my opinion. --Richhoncho (talk) 23:57, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
