Peer Review 11/29 edit

Your article was very well developed, and I found that the additional information you added was crucial to the novel itself. You organized the page effectively without taking away the previous points made from the previous editor. The additions added were vital both individually and holistically. The information added under the legacy section was full of your research, and the information was critical to describe the legacy of the novel. A neutral voice was used throughout, and there were not any claims made which follows Wiki guidelines. An area that could be improved during the course of the article is to potentially add a "characters" section to highlight the characters and their significance. Since the summary section of the novel is important, and to potentially increase your word count, I believe adding a characters section is important for a novel and will benefit your article along with an additional word count. Additionally, the plot section is missing citations, therefore, I would be aware of this in case you need it. Overall, the additions added were fantastic for the article! For an article that had a vast amount of information already, the new additions were not "fluff" and were informative and added great detail in length about the novel. Well done! Great job with this! You have improved the tone and content of the article. In general, I think you need more citations. Your lead section is good but none of your claims have secondary sources. One thing I definitely have to keep in mind myself is that we are "summarizing existing resources" so you really do not need to be coming up with any of your own ideas (if that is the case). Also, more specific plot information would fit better in the plot summary section. Particularly, "Those who have internalized white racism, those who are tired of inferior opportunities socially and economically, and those who simply want to expand their sexual horizons, undergo the procedure. As the country "whitens", the economic importance of racial segregation in the South as a means of maintaining elite white economic and social status becomes increasingly apparent, as the South relies on Black labor through sharecropping." Also, there is no information about Schuyler's legacy, critical reception, or adaptations in the lead.

In regards to the plot summary, I believe specific plot points and especially quotes should be cited from the novel itself (which I do not see in your reference section). You have some sentences in each section that have complex structures. In general, aim for simple sentence structure. Also, read through the entire page for minor grammatical errors. I think the plot summary is a good length and covers the basic plot points! The adaptation section should be updated. It states that "production is now set to January to February 2022."

You have maintained a neutral tone and there are no biased statements that I noticed. Basically, with some minor edits I think you are golden. You really improved this article!Nxmaleck (talk) 20:00, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
