Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Minkowski space, but we cannot accept original research. Please do not add your home made animations of images to various articles. Thank you. - DVdm (talk) 09:25, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I second that. Your edits are not desirable; please do not continue to make such changes withotu first establishing consensus for them. --Stemonitis (talk) 10:11, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I wish a consensus with you :). A discuss about it. My purpose is only to make it possible wikipedia to profit from all the technological advantages which make it possible a numerical encyclopaedia to exist. Namely: interactivity, user-friendliness, esthetics. When it is said to me that an encyclopaedia could not be a “ludic course”, I argue that the austerity does not support “the intellectual awakening” (if you allow me this phrase). Perhaps in addition, to support user-friendliness will allow wikipedia more frequentation. Best Reguards :)--Bastien Sens-Méyé (discuss) 10:11, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid I don't understand a word of that. Whay are you trying to say? --Stemonitis (talk) 10:22, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Don't be afraid, my friend. I am a human been :)). I just want to explain that it is possible to have more interactivity with these kind of app'. But is it possible to discuss together about it with an administrator of en.wikipedia? Have fun! :)--Bastien Sens-Méyé (discuss) 10:11, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your addition to Spider-Man

edit

Hello,

I have re-reverted your addition to this article. The Did You Know topic is irrelevant to the article subject, the animation is distracting and the addition of such material is unencyclopedic. It might maybe find a home as part of a Wikiquiz, but not here. Yunshui (talk) 10:30, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your message :) My idea is to discuss about this app'. I think that wikipedia would be more insteresting with it. Best reguards! Bastien Sens-Méyé (talk) 10:30, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I would suggest opening a discussion at the village pump, in that case. Yunshui (talk) 10:36, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ok ;) I opened a discuss about it to there : [1]. I hope that it is good to :) Thank you my friend ! Bastien Sens-Méyé (talk) 10:42, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Excuse me, but, could you explain me how to use the village pump? Sorry °_° Bastien Sens-Méyé (talk) 10:56, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I suggest starting a new topic here at the Village Pump. The Administrators' Noticeboard is not the right place for it. Until you get some agreement from others in this animation, I strongly suggest that you DON'T use it any more in articles. As far as I can see it hasn't been welcomed in articles where you have placed it, and I agree with other editors that it's distracting. Please do wait for feedback from others before implementing it further. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 11:32, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your answer, my friend! I hope you will participate to this discuss on the link that you send to me. Best reguards! Bastien Sens-Méyé discuss 13:55, 3 october 2011 (CEST)

The "Did you know?" gif/image

edit

Hi Bastien,

The objection to your insertion of these boxes is not soley on the grounds of the annoying .gif animation (although it was pretty seizure-inducing). Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not an online quiz, and these additions are inappropriate. We already have a project for Wikiquizzes, and your efforts might be more appreciated there. In article space, however, I can't see that they would ever gain consensus for use. Yunshui (talk) 10:28, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

  Civility Award
I reckon you merit one of these, though - a lot of editors would have raised merry hell over the criticism of their pet project, but you've been very polite throughout the whole debacle. Yunshui (talk) 10:32, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Fully agreeing with Yunshui's barnstar. I hope Bastien that you are not doscouraged by the reception of your animation and that you can bring the same enthusiasm and ingenuity to some of the ongoing projects we have here. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 10:40, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Wholeheartedly agree as well. Chapeau! DVdm (talk) 11:35, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you infinitely for your messages, my friends! I wish you an excellent evening, and, i promise you, I would try to find more interesting ideas ; ans shall speak about them! Best reguards and thank you again! Bastien Sens-Méyé (discuss) 20:01, 4 October 2011 (CEST)

New York City draft riots

edit

Hi. I am not sure why you wiki-linked dates/years on the New York City draft riots article but that is rarely done (see WP:MOS). Yours, Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 14:11, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I usaly post on wikipedia french. It is habitualy done in this language because more conections and it is better for wiki. Wish you have a very good evening. Thank you for your message! Bye!Bastien Sens-Méyé (talk) 16:11515 October 2011 (CEST)
On our wiki linking dates and years is not done, unless in very specific instances. See wp:OVERLINK and wp:OVERLINK#Chronological items. I have just undone most of your recent link additions. Cheers - DVdm (talk) 15:11, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
It's okay! Have à very good evening! Cheers. Bastien Sens-Méyé (talk) 23:11 11 October 2011 (CEST)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Michel Farinet do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Cheers - DVdm (talk) 21:25, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Bastien,
I don't entirely agree with DVdm here. I don't read French too well, so I'm not entirely certain of what these links say, but it could be that some of these links might useable as references for the article. Certainly Le Post looks as though it would make a valid source. I haven't reverted DVdm's edit, but you might want to take another look at the page and see if some of those links could be added back in. You're far more bilingual than I am, so you're in a better position to establish whether or not they should be used. Have a look at WP:RS for the English Wikipedia's guidlines for sources (I think some of these may fall under the subsection WP:USERG), and see if you think any of them could be put back in as references - use the instructions at WP:INCITE to place them as inline citations.
It may be that they all fail the requirements of WP:RS, in which case I guess DVdm was right, but I think some of them may bear a second look. Since the article is tagged for lacking sources, more inline citations would be an improvement. Give me a shout on my talkpage if you need a hand.
Cheers, Yunshui (talk) 07:39, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi there, Bastien and Yunshui, here's the items at wp:ELNO w.r.t. the individual sources:
Hope this helps. Cheers - DVdm (talk) 08:42, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Looks like DVdm's pretty much got it covered. In respect of the above, I reckon his revert looks like a good call after all. I thought Le Post was a NEWSBLOG, but it isn't. Sorry for the extra work, DV. Yunshui (talk) 08:50, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I had done the work already :-) - Cheers - DVdm (talk) 08:54, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
