Hi guys! I understand you may see it as it's been written about "myself" when in fact I just have followed Sadiq through his basketball career and took a liking to his approach with basketball and business. I didn't anything to "promote" his business simply said he owns it and added a few things as well as his relationship status with his model and social media girlfriend(Also a fan of his girlfriend) The username was a honest mistake just supported the business model so named it.. have no problem changing it.. of course as his career grows/develops more details slowly emerge but he was an Irish International for basketball.

If you check the draft written it was anything relevant on socials and publications included. As well as that I'd like to fully disclose I'm not working with him have interviewed him twice and haven't gotten paid around this. I joined to add it as my first contribution which would include more people as time goes on

Original username was way too similar to what would look like the person is typing 1st perspective about themselves. New username incorporates my Irish routes and first name as well as just random numbers. You uploaded File:International Irish Team Picture - Daniel.jpg and note that you personally took the photo and personally own the copyright to the photo. You are deeply confused. Twitter is not open source. Images posted on twitter are not free of copyright. And you claim you did take the picture. You said "Own work" for the source and you said you are "the copyright holder of this work". This is actually worse, you have placed the entire project in jeopardy if you were misleading us there. If you were indeed violating WP:COPYRIGHT, I strongly advise you immediately go and get that image deleted over on Wikimedia Commons. Only after that image is deleted, come back here and make a new unblock request. Given your attempt to mislead us, you'll have to agree not to edit about Daniel any further and you'll have to tell us what you plan to write about instead. --Yamla (talk) 10:30, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

What you wrote is a lie. You claimed you took the picture. That was a lie. You claimed you owned the copyright to the picture. That was a lie. The lack of a citation is not the problem. We cannot use this image to depict Daniel; see WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:FAIRUSE. I still follow onto Daniel and keep tabs with his socials.. as well his girlfriend. I've done the requirement you've stated not sure if you could possibly approve the picture deletion? this was genuinely to give a scope of him playing for Ireland

@Irishanna4921 What you wrote was certainly mistaken. I wish that "own work" would be renamed to say "I took the picture myself". Then, maybe editors wouldn't choose it without careful thought. (As for "simply for the purpose of the article", the "own work" statement applies to the image, not to its intended use. And "you seen on his account it's him" and "the picture is still him" are irrelevant.) Yes, there is a learning curve here. Is it possible to get reviewed around this again and understand it was a genuine mistake? Anna, I've read your email and renamed your account, so the username issue is dealt with. I share Yamla's concerns about copyright. Wikipedia allows its content to be freely copied and reused. It follows that the content we host MUST also be free of copyright restrictions. I have no problem with an unblock once Yamla is satisfied. Creating an article about a probably non-notable sportsperson while naming your account after his business and claiming ownership of his image triggers all kinds of alarms. Hi Cabayi, Appreciate it sincerely on the name change! completely understandable and I agree 100% I was wrong with the picture thinking with twitter it's open source however that was from my lack of knowledge on that, as said before I've nominated it for deletion which it's pending at the moment if I'm mistaken.. I can understand why it triggers alarms too genuinely got ahead of myself and just went with a username not thinking it'd be of a problem again I apologize and that and I didn't realize it'd cause a problem and I've now learned from my mistake.. Getting unblocked

After the image is deleted at Commons you can again appeal the indefinite block. As part of your appeal, I suggest that you promise to never again edit the Sadiq Daniels draft/article. It is currently a submitted draft that in my experienced opinion will be Declined as not establishing notability of this young person with a modest basketball career and a self-published book. If no edits are made to it, it will be deleted six months from now. I hope you have learned from this messy experience and once your block is reverted, find ways to contribute to Wikipedia. What with your first choice of User name and claiming the image as own work, you poisoned the well. I doubt that the Admin will unblock you unless you promise to abandon the draft. Even if Irena Drezi was the subject of a Wikipedia article, his relationship with her would not contribute to his notability. I suppose that's how you see it but I've been following him and he's an Irish athlete that's played at a high level... I've seen articles with a few other sport athletes or entrepreneurs of similar caliber and they're up live. The username of course I understand that messed things up and also the picture so you're right on that account.. He's related to two premier league footballers Dickson and Kelvin Etuhu (Etuhu brothers) and family have a sporting background..

From my scope on things abandoning the article is understandable but a bit unfair considering I created an article that had more to add just didn't realize the name COI and obviously the picture but once addressed quickly rectified it. Wikipedia has amateur-professionals and semi professional athletes so I would argue on just a modest career.. Ireland is small in the sporting world but when people at least compete at FIBA European level that's high. Irishanna4921 (talk) 18:55, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Who he is related to is useless information. The fact that other articles exist means nothing. There are tens of thousands of Wikipedia articles that do not meet current standards, and should be deleted via AfD.
