Welcome! edit

Hello, Barelybeard, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Alkahest edit

Dear Barelybeard,

Hi, I am feeling a bit stupid as I have just spent a couple of days making some edits to the text on the Alkahest page without realizing that it was a subject for your tutorial. I tend to drift from article to article following links in ideas that I am working on, and building-in information and references where it seems useful. So without realizing the situation, I just blundered in here and carried on as usual, and have only now seen the tutorial banner on the talk page. The main thing I have done is to enlarge the lede. If I had seen it was your current tutorial I would at least have held off for a bit out of courtesy, or discussed it with you. So, I hope you think what I have added is useful, but if not, please feel free to alter anything I have done - or indeed message me on my talk page if you wish. Sorry! Such is the cut and thrust of open editing. All the best, and good wishes with your editing. Kind regards, Eebahgum (talk) 20:49, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
