Working with categories

edit

Regarding your edits at Category:Pilkington F.C. players - that is a category page, not an article. It is meant as a container to link together similar pages, not as an article in its own right. To add items to a category, you do not edit the category page itself; you add "Category:Category name" to the bottom of the page you want to add (with double brackets instead of quotes), and the page will automatically be added to the category page. Thanks, and happy editing! PohranicniStraze (talk) 14:28, 8 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

  Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Bohan Dixon. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. GiantSnowman 20:19, 9 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Banksy1414. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 22:34, 9 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
