Hi, in most cases dates should not be linked, only when they are germane and topical to the subject, as discussed at Wikipedia:Linking#Chronological items (see MOS:UNLINKDATES).

I'm not sure what you are asking sorry. Do I think it is appropriate for us to include what basically boils down to more speculation and rumors? Then no, I don't. In the same article the club stated that no signing has yet been made. There are numerous examples of newspapers reporting on player transfers and they turn out to be incorrect, so we must exercise caution with WP:BLP in mind. Camw (talk) 09:37, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

According to MOS:FLAG these flags should be removed, so I'm removing them wherever I see them. Wikipedia contains lots of articles about footballers (I think that the number is > 50,000) and it is difficult to impose the same standards on all of them. I agree with you that all athletes should be treated in the same way, but there are are lot of different editors. Some don't just know what the consensus is, others are going against it on purpose.

I don't have a 'say' here, the 'style' for footballer articles is usually discussed at WT:FOOTY, the talk page of the WP:WikiProject Football. If you want to know what the general opinion on a football topic is, better go there than asking only a single editor (in some cases the consensus is against my personal opinion so I'd have a hard case arguing for it). --Jaellee (talk) 09:47, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
