Welcome ... edit

Wikipedia really welcomes technical experts, especially those that will share their insights. But it is worth pointing out that Wikipedia is a a poor mechanism to publicize recent specialized research results, for several reasons. First, the material that you are citing is too specialized for Wikipedia, although it may be very impressive for other specialists. In pentane, we are just tying to explain the basics in context - like any encyclopedia. For this reason, Wikipedia seeks secondary and tertiary sources (books, reviews) except in special cases (discoveries, key procedures). Second, on practical grounds, we cannot reference every paper - J. Phys. Chem. publishes 40,000+ pages/year! Do you think that we should be citing everyone one of these papers? Of course not, they are too many and too specialized. And consider Phys Rev B - it's bigger! So have faith and be patient - wait for your papers to be digested into reviews and books. Maybe you'd care to review the article on Raman Spectroscopy for its clarity? Cheers, --Smokefoot (talk) 13:51, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome. I have to agree with Smokefoot. On Basis set superposition error, you added a very specialised reference to a paper obviously written by yourself. This comes under the conflict of interest guideline. What you did is not prohibited, but it would have been much better if you had used your specialist knowledge of the subject to add a few general references for the whole concept of basis set superposition error. The article has no references other than yours. Once that is done, adding your specialist reference may be appropriate. Please do this. The article needs your knowledge of the literature. Add references to books and review articles.

Hello! Regarding your recently created articles such as The Social and Political Thought of Leon Trotsky, Our Revolution (Trotsky), and Leon Trotsky and the politics of economic isolation, please consider expanding the prose beyond mere assertion of existence and a list of reviews. See Non-fiction article guidelines, and don't be afraid to put a little effort into it. Cheers, --Animalparty! (talk) 00:56, 30 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Kese Alberton edit

Hello, Balabinrm,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Kese Alberton should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kese Alberton .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Martin Hagan moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Martin Hagan, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Viacheslav Vershinin moved to draftspace edit

I just reviewed Viacheslav Vershinin, and it doesn't appear to currently meet notability guidelines. I tried looking up his research, but wasn't able to find sufficient highly cited publications to meet WP:NACADEMIC. Alternatively, provide citations to in-depth coverage in reliable, independent sources in order to meet WP:GNG. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. April 2019 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself, at Roman Balabin. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Please also note WP:COI if you edit or create articles about close associates, such as co-authors or research team members. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 07:53, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
