Regarding the Arab spring in Algeria, I think it's not major enough to figure in the lead section of the country's article. Algeria has known more turbulent protest times, this wave of protests died early after some reforms. The lead must summaries the key points about the country, some protests in 2011 are not one of them in my opinion. But if other editors are not opposed to this addition you can add them back I will not oppose it.
