Speedy deletion of Georgian-American High School edit

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Georgian-American High School has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from http://gahs.edu.ge/?page_id=3329&lang=en. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:04, 1 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

I don't know where the page gone, I don't find the source to edit... Please help!

If you are referring to the article(not just "page") about Georgian-American High School, it was deleted as the notice above describes. This is because it was both a clear promotional piece for the school and a copyright violation. For legal reasons Wikipedia cannot accept text simply copied from elsewhere. It was sourced to almost nothing except the school website. Wikipedia is interested only in what independent reliable sources state about article subjects. Please read Your First Article and use the new user tutorial for more information about the process of creating a new article- which is the hardest task on Wikipedia.
If you work for this school in any way, you must read and comply with the conflict of interest and paid editing policies. 331dot (talk) 12:08, 1 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks 331dot for the reply, I understand this, as of copying and pasting the exact text is not accepted by Wikipedia, but as for "clear promotion" I don't know how should the article be? Can you review the article and edit what's considered promotion in it, then give me the new modified one? this will help me understand the mistakes in the article by comparing between the corrected version and the old one. As for the source... there the article has about 2 different sources, yes one of them is the school website... while all the information are correct, there's not much sources available on the internet to prove it. What's the solution in such case where there are no much sources of School, or new company or brand? Thanks in advance

If there are not a sufficient number of reliable sources about the subject, then it would not merit an article at this time. Not every subject merits an article here, even within the same field(i.e. not every school merits an article). The article was promotional because it contained glowing text about the school and its mission, which is wholly unencylopedic as that is impossible to independently verify, as a school can change its mission at any time.
If you just want to tell the world about this school, you should use social media or some alternative forum where that is permitted. 331dot (talk) 13:38, 1 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Georgian-American High School moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Georgian-American High School, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Please see the school article guidelines which describes how the content of school articles should be organized, with the aim of providing general guidance to editors. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
