I see you have now recreated this page. Is this more fictional climate data, or is this in support of an article you're working on? Please explain. – bradv🍁 14:06, 29 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of User:Baba Wethu/sandbox edit

Bradv, I am not intending to post any fictional climates on my sandbox. Indeed, out of the dozens of weatherboxes I had on my previous sandbox, only three of them were an actual fictional sandbox. The others were real climates using real data, some of which I used on other wikipedia pages.

When I recreated this sandbox, I decided to only post real climates with real data with cited sources. Some of these weather boxes, I intend to transfer to other wikipedia pages where they're relevant. I'd appreciate it if you could revert your deletion of this new sandbox that I made, thank you. I have not deleted this sandbox as I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. If this is in support of an offwiki game or forum, it is still out of scope, even if the information is not fictional. Please see WP:NOTWEBHOST and WP:UPNOT. – bradv🍁 14:43, 29 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I thought it had been deleted, sorry. If that is the case, then I will make it the number one purpose to create climate tables for wikipedia articles. By putting it in my sandbox I'll be able to pause mid-edit and then continue later to finish the climate table, so there is still a good reason for me to keep the sandbox.

Btw, I've seen some users that keep similar material as I have kept, on their User Page as opposed to their Sand box. Which is preferable and are the rules different depending on which of the two you use? Baba Wethu (talk) 14:52, 29 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I would love it if you would use some of this knowledge to help improve Wikipedia articles. People who have the patience and persistence to work on tables and templates ("wikicode") are valuable, and you clearly have acquired this skill. That said, data stored in userspace must be in support of the goals of improving the encyclopedia, per the policies I linked above. This applies regardless of whether it's on a user page, a talk page, or a sandbox. – bradv🍁 14:57, 29 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
