More Sources edit

Career edit

Who has sources for interviews, press releases, &c. for Gibson's use of the "sophisti-pop" moniker for her later compositions? - B.C.Schmerker 07:05, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

"I Come from America" to Atlantic Records contract, 1982-1986 edit

Who has a source to verify the data on "I Come From America," originally published 1982 by Creative Bloc Music Ltd. (rights now administered by Music Sales Corporation (ASCAP)), with respect to the contest at Radio Station WOR? - B.C.Schmerker 06:54, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes. This comes from the Debbie A-Doo Run-Run article I gave you a cite for before. The 'junior high project' part is totally wrong, but the actual story is even better:

However, that does not mention WOR radio. That requires a separate cite. Full cite info: A Dream Life for a Teenager Long Islander Debbie Gibson has a single, `Only in My Dreams,' moving quickly up the pop charts and an album in the works. David Abels. Newsday. (Combined editions). Long Island, N.Y.: Jun 29, 1987. pg. 03.

  • Thanks for the quote. I'll integrate it in my next session. - B.C.Schmerker 15:31, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Electric Youth and Beyond, 2007-present edit

Who has an in-depth review of the Dean Parker Productions LLC musical recently presented at Orlando, FL, under the title Electric Youth? I need it for an alpha article and have no data about cast, crew, actual song order, &c. - B.C.Schmerker 14:10, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Personal life, 1982-present edit

Concerning Gibson's dating history, I need a source to confirm Lorenzo Lamas as among the persons Gibson has dated. Who has one? - B.C.Schmerker 03:11, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Green tickYAlready done. - BCS

Trivia reassignments edit

Just a note - Trivia sections are highly frowned upon. I'd suggest deleting or reintegrating it into the article itself. First, you'll probably have to do it if you go for FA. Second, some bot'll come by and slap an ugly THIS ARTICLE HAS A TRIVIA SECTION tag on your article. Chris Croy 21:31, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Noted.
Any suggestions for location of the following data? - B.C.Schmerker 02:22, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
For the dating stuff, I'd turn it into a paragraph of prose about the media's interest in her dating life and, if possible, the chronological order of her noteworthy dating escapades. For the others, again, prose. The other stuff - Either create a Tributes section and put it into prose or a Legacy section and generally talk about the impact she's had on other artists, ie people who cite her as influences, lists that say her albums/songs are the best, etc. Chris Croy 06:30, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Part of your proposal already started:
  • Dating life: In progress, for a new Personal Life section.
  • Tributes: In progress, for a new section of the same title.
  • Legacy: Red XNOn hold pending more research—it looks too much like an original-research situation at present, as most artists that would cite her as an influence are just now entering the field or still yet to be signed to a distributor. I still don't have the reviews I need for Electric Youth (musical) yet.
Be advised that not all the songs where Gibson is subject qualify for the Tributes section now in progress; only "Raptori - Debi Gibson" to date. - B.C.Schmerker 05:59, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

As subject of songs by other artists edit

"Debi Gibson", a song written and performed by Raptori, a hip hop band from Finland (Megamania MGM 2031 Moe!; MGX 173 (dance maxi-single)) edit

Green tickYAssigned to Tributes.

Prior and current significant relationships edit

Green tickYIn progress as a new section. - BCS 06:40, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

To do edit

Overall edit

Question: Possible separation of personal-life data from career data

Early life, 1970-1982 edit

  • Statistics on advertisements with which Gibson was involved.

Career edit

  • Statistics on further advertisements with which Gibson was involved.
  • Integration of significant-relationships data in sequence with either existing data on career or new Personal life section.

Music and theatre reviews to date edit

  • Extracts from reviews of all four Atlantic albums.
  • Extracts from reviews of all theatre musicals where Gibson was in cast.
  • Extracts from reviews for Think With Your Heart, Deborah, M.Y.O.B., and Colored Lights.

Tributes edit

  • Identification of events and productions.

(NOTE: Electric Youth (musical) qualifies but is held up for want of reviews. - BCS)

Legacy edit

  • Identification of trends in music and theatre.

Trivia reassignment and section deprecation edit

  • Identification of suitable sections for reassignment.

Deborah Gibson edit

I am confused as to why the rewrite is here...if it is sourced and a better version than the current one then why not replace it? -RunningOnBrains 19:34, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the inquiry. This Peer Review is part of the process for replacement articles; the original article still on file (see Deborah Gibson) had several known issues at the time I began this process back in March. I still need sources to complete the reference data for this beta article before replacement is effected. - B.C.Schmerker 01:34, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
