Difference between WikiProjects and portals?

What is the difference between WikiProjects and portals?

  • WikiProjects are groups of editors who team up to collaborate on developing and maintaining articles or other features or aspects of Wikipedia. There is a Portals WikiProject, for example. WikiProjects are linked to from article talk pages with WikiProject banners like {{WikiProject Politics}} for example, but not from within articles.
  • Portals are mainly for readers, providing an alternative doorway into a subject, and can be linked to from articles using the {{Portal}} template in an article's See also section. There may or may not be a WikiProject and a portal on the same subject.

By the way...the WikiProject Portals is currently redesigning and revamping the entire portals system, and could use all the help it can get. New participants are welcome.

Samaira Sandhu moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Samaira Sandhu, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. March 2020

edit

Hello, I'm Newslinger. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/KartikeyaS343 have been disallowed by an edit filter because they did not appear constructive. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page, which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Also feel free to ask for assistance at the Help Desk whenever you like to. Thank you. — Newslinger talk 08:26, 25 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

As a reminder, you will need much stronger evidence to file a sockpuppetry report on another editor than what you provided in Special:AbuseLog/26320446. You must also identify at least two accounts that you believe are related to each other. — Newslinger talk 08:28, 25 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
My evidences were correct and you can see KartikeyaS343 has been blocked now. B-Factor (talk) 11:20, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
