Mitsui Aika

Hi, I noticed you wrote on the Aika article her nickname was "Mitsi". I know that's the name someone wrote on the Momusu article, but I have seen last Sunday's episode of Haro Moni and I am sure it's Micchi or ミッチ. I know that's the way Gottsuan calls Sayumin, but that's how they spell her name. Just wanted to discuss this issue to see what you're take on it was. Ishikawa Minoru 17:44, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey, about me adding "Mitsi" as Mitsui Aika's nickname. I only put that there because I saw that someone put that on the Morning Musume article. Teaneck Highwaymen

The previous edit was correct; this is a common misconception about the team name. I remember from the student handbook, that it was attributed to a Principal High, who said to do things "The High Way" or somesuch. Perhaps you can look this up tomorrow? I no longer live in NJ. I currently go to Teaneck High School and my teachers and classmates have always told me that the teams are named the way they are because of what is stated in the article. It's possible that it isn't the original reason why they're named that, but if you are sure that they were named the Highwaymen because of another reason, please add it to the article. ☆CharlesNguyễn 00:54, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Roman ~My Dear Boy~

Please don't change the capitalization to the "official" one. Wikipedia has its own set of guidelines to deal with titles, including Naming convention (Do not replicate stylized typography in logos and album art, though a redirect may be appropriate (for example, KoЯn redirects to Korn (band)).) and trademarks (Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules even if the trademark owner encourages special treatment). Glad you understood that fast. People are usually harder to convince, even with the correct arguments. Secret, by Ayumi Hamasaki, is usually changed every other day (you can check its history). Try to leave a message in the users who change the capitalization, if they keep changing even after being told about the guidelines a couple of times, they can be blocked for disruption. About the alphabetical order, the producer Tsunku intentionally named some groups in such a way. See following examples.

Aa!, Berryz Kobo, °C-ute, Def Diva, Gam, (Hello! Project)
v-u-den, W, XYZ

Note that 美勇伝 (normally "Biyūden") is romanized in "v-u-den" so that it should form a reverse alphabetical order following "W". But this rule has not been applied all the time.

Folks,

Sorry for the mass posting, but with the copyright nazis breathing down our necks we have to defend the work we've been putting in. Please fully attribute and rationalize all images we post to H!P articles so that we can keep the copyright nazis (who don't seem to contribute to any Wiki articles at all) away for good, and do not hesitate to defend against these pricks.

Also, please keep me informed via my talk page or via e-mail (minimoniotaku@gmail.com) if these copyright nazis start hassling you to look for "free" images (that don't exist) of our heroines. They claim that no image is better than a non-free image, I say that's a lame cop-out.

And finally, if anyone knows a good copyright or US Constitutional Law legal expert that can give us some pro bono advice on these matters, have them get in touch with me. --User talk:Cjmarsicano 03:50, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Image problems.

No drawings! I want the ladies to be properly represented, which means having photographs - not drawings - of the ladies in every article. We will have to both make stronger attributions and rationales for using the pictures and in the process, get some sort of movement where the policy is either relaxed, eliminated entirely, or rewritten.

I also want everyone in WP:H!P to fight this bullshit "policy" in any way, shape or form possible. I am under the impression that no matter what we do, some asshole is going to give us another lame excuse to keep fair use pictures off of the profiles.--CJ Marsicano 00:04, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

I wish there was a way to get "free images" for all the H!P members. Without images, some people would not know what the person looks like. People want to know who they look like. I'm sure you all know wiki.theppn, I think that is a great resource too, and it's got pictures. But in this case here, i'd be willing to help out with this problem. Onna ni Sachiare

Onna ni Sachi Are
Where did you find out that sachiare is one word? According to the Wakan dictionary, it's two words, but it might be wrong. I'm just curious what the single word means. ☆CharlesNguyễn 22:52, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

I know that there are words sachi and are, which translates to "happiness" and "that thing," respectively. However, the word sachiare exists too; it means "good luck" or "all the best." (as seen here) So, "Onna ni Sachiare" translates to "Good Luck to Women" or "All the Best for Women." I hope this clears up the confusion (I'm not really good at explaining things). By the way, I moved the article back to "Onna ni Sachi Are." I checked CDJapan and YesAsia.com, since they are very reliable and knows Japanese more that I do, and found that the title is officially written as "Onna ni Sachi Are" and not "Onna ni Sachiare." Tagging of music singles

The problem there is those articles being incorrectly tagged with an album-stub template. If articles "aren't considered as albums", then they shouldn't be using stub types specifically for albums. Alai 22:01, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

I know you reverted his edits at Renai Rider, but this user has continued to defy everything and is inserting false information into other articles as well. I gave him his only warning and if he does it again, he will be reported to AIV. He was blocked a few weeks ago for one week but he continues to add false info.

Image on Morning Musume article

Someone put this [1] image on the article, I reverted it because it's a non-free image, but User:Xxskawt put it back because he says there is a fair use rational on the picture. Bottom line is should the picture remain on the article, or should it be deleted? I also see one on Junjun's page and other pages also have non-free images added. look at his Contributions Momusufan (talk) 16:06, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Because of previous conflicts on H!P images, I think the Morning Musume and Junjun pictures are better off deleted. I don't really mind there being images and usually I just leave them until someone else comes and deletes them unless there's no copyright information. Disbanded groups are allowed to have images though because of the unlikely possibility of being able to get a free image of them as a group. ☆CharlesNguyễn 20:49, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Simplified Nihongo?!

Don't take me wrong as I think you're definitely an asset for Wikipedia, but I cannot possibly agree with your decision to 'simplify' the title of Tanaka Reina's photobooks. Why did you decide to do such a thing? Sorry about that, I was in a bit of a rush since I was editing in class :O and I wasn't sure of what the actual names really were and where they were referred to as such. I was just following Jawiki and the PB covers. "1stソロ写真集" also just seems to me like a description of the book. Your YouTube Videos

As you may be aware, YouTube has recently come in for criticism over it's handlling of copyrighted works.

I note that you have a number of potentially interesting videos on You Tube that you link to from your talk page.

Instead of supporting troubled proprietary sites, Why not support projects that value creative talent and assist in ensuring that a viewing public can enjoy and expand upon it?

Wikimedia Commons is one project that needs creative content (under licensing that lets people enjoy and expand upon it).

It would be much appreciated if you could see if you would consider migrating videos for which you are the copyright owner to 'open' formats like Ogg Theora, and moving them from 'failed' propriatey sites like YouTube to community sites like Wikimedia Commons, under an appropriate license.

Hello there! It seems that you are the only active WP:H!P member (aside from me, but I'm not really active), so I really need your help. I discovered that there are two WP:H!P templates (A and B) and two WP:H!P "to-do" lists (C and D). I think we should merge both WP:H!P templates under the Template:WikiProject Hello! Thank you for helping out. Well, when Template:WikiProject Hello! Project gets deleted, this to-do list will also get deleted since it's a subpage. Also, I think we should move Wikipedia:WikiProject Hello! Project/ToDo to Template:WikiProject Hello!Project/to do.

Now, about the names. I agree to keep Mini Moni, but I wouldn't say that it's more common than Minimoni. I checked YesAsia, and it's also inconsistent. On the other hand, CD Japan is consistent and only uses Minimoni. I'm still undecided on this topic though. As for Petitmoni, I agree with Petit as the official translation for Pucchi (dictionary, YesAsia). However, if we are going to make these changes, we need a clear explanation (why we did such changes) to avoid future arguments with the other users. As for Ecomoni, leave it as it is. I requested page protection at WP:RPP because of shifting Japanese IP's adding unsourced nickname "bull-chan". I noticed it happened in 2007 as well and as more recent as January 2009. Romanization for words of English origin

On the MOS:JP talk page, a discussion has been started about including or not including romanizations for words of English origin, such as Fainaru Fantajī in Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī) (for the sake of simplicity, I called this case "words of English origin", more information on semantics here).

Over the course of a month, it has become apparent that both the parties proposing to include or not include those romanizations cannot be convinced by the arguments or guidelines brought up by the other side. Therefore, a compromise is trying to be found that will satisfy both parties. One suggestion on a compromise has been given already, but it has not found unanimous agreement, so additional compromises are encouraged to be suggested.

One universally accepted point was to bring more users from the affected projects in to help achieve consensus, and you were one of those selected in the process.

What this invitation is:

• You should give feedback on the first suggested compromise and are highly encouraged to provide other solutions.

What this invitation is not:

• This is not a vote on including or excluding such romanizations.
• This is not a vote on compromises either.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! Proposed deletion of Sōgen no Hito

The article Sōgen no Hito has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No content, no references, no claim of notability, fails WP:NSONG and WP:GNG.
