How to stop TWINKLE from adding articles to watchlist?

edit

The title says it all, how do you stop TWINKLE from adding pages to my watchlist? User: Hdt83 | Talk/Chat 00:34, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Automated message to bot owners

edit

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 00:34, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Would you teach me how to modify my monobook to add a "my desk" link between my preferences and my watchlist, which would link to user:NYC JD/Desk? Thanks. - NYC JD make a motion 05:07, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user page. Much appreciated. Will 10:55, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Twinkle on Opera

edit

I'm using Opera 9.20 beta and notice that the tabs for Twinkle CSD deletion are no longer there. (Wasn't there either when I was using Opera 9.10.) What happened? Are you no longer supporting Opera? :( Awyong J. M. Salleh 13:21, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

In my opera, they are there. .AzaToth 13:30, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Weird... when viewing your user talk page, I get the "report" tab but no "db (csd)" or "db (reason)". Might my monobook be the cause? I updated it then cleared the browser cache totally, pressed F5, but the db-tabs don't reappear. Awyong J. M. Salleh 13:52, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

User:Tibbsy

edit

Hey, could you block Tibbsy again? I just got him blanking Tonbridge School Averross (utc)

I would if I could, don't have that bit set on me, sorry. AzaToth 14:44, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

AzaBot

edit

Hi I noticed AzaBot seems not to have notified people of their nominated article this week. See Wikipedia talk:Article Creation and Improvement Drive#Lamest collaboration yet. Hope it can be fixed I think it makes a big difference. GameKeeper 22:51, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Forgot last week, sadly, the last week is too late now, as the templates have been updated, but I'll notify this weeks people now. AzaToth 22:56, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I didn't vote for Rwandan Genocide

edit

Sure, I rolled the ACID, but I didn't vote for the article. Your bot placed the message on my talk page that I helped choose the winner. Oh well... thanks anyway. Diez2 00:04, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, that's strange, perhaps you had made a comment or added your signature in the list. AzaToth 13:40, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

TWINKLE - edit summaries and watching

edit

I can't seem to get it to show nothing after the "reverted edits by user to...", that is, not say "TWINKLE". I tried to configure it by placing summaryAd  : " " , but it didn't work. Also, I'd rather not have anything added to my watchlist when reverting, is this possible? John Reaves (talk) 04:18, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

TWINKLE with simple skin

edit

Out of curiousity I've just tested TWINKLE with all available skins and these are the ones that work for sure with TWINKLE:

  1. Chick
  2. MySkin
  3. Monobook (of course)

Thanks for making something that isn't confined to monobook users only. :)

However, when using simple skin, there's an issue - when editing user talk pages, hovering over either the "1", "2", "3", or "4" warning tabs will cause only part of the relevant warnings list to appear, and the list flickers so fast it's unusable. Is there any way to fix it? Thanks in advance. Awyong J. M. Salleh 09:38, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

TWINKLE and whitelisting

edit

For some reason my latest use of TWINKLE here complained about HagermanBot and opened that page. The .js file clearly has the bot whitelisted. Has something changed in the past few days to affect it? I know it properly skipped H-B the other day for me. — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 17:32, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

The whitelist only affects vandalism and AGF reverts. I could add a popup for normal reverts also. AzaToth 17:40, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not sure why not... ;) — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 18:29, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

fixed. AzaToth 19:18, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Daniel Brandt content review

edit

Here is the Google cache version: [1]. The differences I find between that and the last version are: 1) Adds the following text on why his sites are blacklisted on Wikipedia in the "Political activism" section:

On October 10, 2006, the NameBase site was blacklisted as spam by the Wikimedia Foundation, preventing linkage to Brandt's non-commercial, research-oriented index pages from within Wikipedia articles, and causing existing hyperlinks to be deactivated. The administrators cite redirects from Brandt's site to the Wikipedia Review site as the reason behind the blockage.[16] As of early 2007, the redirects are no longer operative,[citation needed] but the blocks are maintained as a hedge to concerns that they might be reinstated.

2) Adds three sub-section headings within "Political activism" 3) The additional citation within that new paragraph is to this diff on meta.wikimedia.org. GRBerry 17:44, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Minor Twinkle Mistake

edit

A very minor mistake: when reporting someone because of their username, it leaves the reasoning "Username may be rude ,inflammatory, unnecessarily...." The comma after rude should be moved one space to the left, to make it "Username may be rude, inflammatory, unnecessarily...". --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 00:24, 24 February 2007 (UTC) Reply

Twinkle CSD glitch

edit

Fairly harmless glitch, but I thought you ought to know about it: when looking at the block log of a user, if you change the username in the box after already seeing the page once, it will add the CSD tag. If you click it, you'll create the page "block log" with nothing on it but the {{db}} template. --Captain Wikify Argh! 05:13, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, but I don't understand the problem. AzaToth 11:44, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I was afraid of that... It's kinda hard to explain. Look at my block log. Now where it says "username", enter a new name, any name at all. It doesn't even have to be a real username. The CSD tag will appear, and if you click it, you will create a page labeled "block log" with a speedy delete template in it. --Captain Wikify Argh! 21:44, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, but I still don't find any problem. AzaToth 21:51, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Odd... Hang on, I'll take a screenshot and upload it. Like I said, it's harmless, but I figured you'd want to know about it. --Captain Wikify Argh! 21:55, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

My block log

After I enter a new name in the block log, the CSD tab appears.

Now if I was to enter a CSD criteria, it would create the page "block log" with nothing but the DB template.

Upon further research, I discovered that this happens with all types of logs; upload, block, or deletion. Again, it's harmless, but I figured you'd want to know. --Captain Wikify Argh! 22:10, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I see the problem, you are not using twinklespeedy, but an older version instead. If you where using TW, then it would look like this:

Twinklespeedy

Oh, gotcha. I'll switch it, then.--Captain Wikify Argh! 22:25, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Changes to WP:UTM

edit

Thanks for correcting my syntax on WP:UTM. Of course, I fixed it in one edit, except that it got editconflict'd out by thou :) Thanks for your overzealousness! GracenotesT § 18:01, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Twinkle weirdness

edit

This is the second time today this has happened - a vandalism warning is coming up with some "diff" wiki-code. Is that the template or the script. Example on this talk page. — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 22:44, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's in the template, a test in {{uw-vandalism2}} for diff link, seems that it aint work good in that occasion. AzaToth 23:03, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your change to {{uw-vandalism2}}

edit

Your change to make it accept a diff param broke the template - see User talk:69.40.82.24 for the effect. I reverted your change. Awyong J. M. Salleh 01:28, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yea, I know, it's rather strange, don't know why it happens, have tried to figure it out. AzaToth 02:07, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Awards

There are three proposals which need some comments. Please weigh in:

Two of the three are sensitive, and thuglas is taking the whole process personally. Finally, there has never been a standard for how much support is needed for the creation of a barnstar. The LGBT star went up with seven votes, and thuglas is threatening to post his star when he gets ten supportive votes. Thoughts? --evrik (talk) Barnstar]]

  • Once again, someone disagrees with my interpretation of our very loose guidelines. Now I don't mind when two users like WJBscribe and Kathryn_NicDh%C3%A0na, but they've taken the disagreement and posted negative comments over at that RFC.
So ... could you please weigh in one last time ... new barnstar or a wikiproject award Wikipedia:Barnstar_and_award_proposals/New_Proposals#The_Copyeditor.27s_Award. Thanks. --evrik (talk) 23:01, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
