Welcome edit

Welcome!

Hello, Aymx, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

In case you are interested, there is a WikiProject Yemen. Its goal is basicly to unite all yemeni users and those who are interested in yemen, to create, expand, and improve yemeni-related articles. Cheers, Jidan 11:39, 2 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Khat edit

Salam Aymx, Thanks for your entry on Qat. I hope you don't mind, but I merged it to Khat. The Yemen article should contain general info on yemen and not be specific. You might want to have a look at other country articles as examples, Syria, Iran, Turky, etc. You might also be interested in creating Culture of Yemen. Becareful not to create an article which already exists. Titles are case and space sensitives. And please try to stay civil, for example, labeling someone as Vandal is not right, and always Assume good faith. Last but not least, you didn't read carefully what I wrote you above; you don't have to type your name, just use the four tildes (~~~~) and your name with the date will be automatically inserted. Cheers, Jidan 12:39, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Article in need of cleanup - please assist if you can edit

The pictures.... edit

I removed the pictures becuase they don't add anything to the article. For example, seriously man, what is the relevance of this picture showing 3 buildings and a road?

The following two pictures are beutifull, but they are showing the same thing! You have to ask yourself, what extra information does the reader get from looking at the second picture?

About the pictures edit

Salam Jidan I added those pictures to Yemen page because it has no nice pictures at all, at allll. For a forigner, when you tell him about Sana'a the capital of Yemen, the image that jumps to his head is the picture of old city of Sana'a, which is totally wrong cuz Sana'a is so improved now. What I want is to remove the image of the old city of Sana'a from the heads of forigners. Maybe the pictures need to be MOVED to other sections in Yemen page, but not REMOVED.

By the way, do you live in Yemen?!

Ok man, c ya  ;)

I am always in yemen and yemen is in me. Hey Amyx, I thought for a moment you were dead. Nice to have you back! BTW, yemen-related articles in wikipedia are very very poor. We need more people. And thanks for your great contributions ;-) Jidan 15:26, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image permission problem with Image:Rawehaden.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Rawehaden.jpg, which you've sourced to http://hopia.net/kyc/picture/salbook/Ye0608%20132_jpg_view.htm. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 21:37, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Same problem with Image:Saqqaf1.jpg sourced from http://www.yementimes.com/photos/744/lastpage1_1.jpg --Sherool (talk) 23:13, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with File:Saqqaf2.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Saqqaf2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Better source request for File:Abdulwahab Raweh.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Abdulwahab Raweh.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. —innotata 20:13, 9 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
