Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. I undid your cut/paste move of Abul-Hasan ibn Mirza Ghiyas Beg as that would discard the wp:edit history You need to use the move function which is at the top of the page. However, this only works if the target (the new name) is not in use. You need to request the page be moved by an administrator. To do this put {{db-move|Abul-Hasan ibn Mirza Ghiyas Beg| *add your reason here* }} at the top of Asaf Khan IV (above the redirect which should be the second line). An administrator will review your reason and if s/he accepts it, move the article to that page. It may take a few hours (or days if they are very busy). For more info, see wp:moving a page. What are your references?

Hello Awaisius, I've just followed up on the sources you provided for the Battle of Chapakchur and am greatly concerned. The references to page 1120 of the The Cambridge History of Iran, Volume 6 are clearly wrong (page 1120 is part of the bibliography and doesn't mention this subject, though the other reference to page 173 does have a very brief account of this battle). Page 89 of the Archive.org version of the A History of Persian Literature Under Tartar Dominion (A.D, 1265–1502) doesn't support the material attributed to this (while this reference is to a later edition, the British Library only identifies the 1920 edition as having ever been published, so at best this is a reference to an online edition which I presume would have the same pagination as the original). The Battle of Qara-Derrah Pass and Battle of Algami Canal articles you created recently are entirely unreferenced, and do not return any hits from searching for these battle titles in Google Books. Can you please explain the sources given for the Battle of Chapakchur article, and the sources which support those other two articles? Note that I briefly blocked you, but decided to put this on hold in case you can provide sources for these articles which have eluded me. Nick-D (talk) 10:56, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days.
