Image:Jennifer dupont.jpg listed for deletion edit

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Jennifer dupont.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Look, I hate it just as much as you but according to recent precedent (see discussion of Image:MissUSA2007Crowned.jpg) this image violate's Wikipedia's non-free content policy. Sorry to take so long getting this mesage to you but my comp is dragging. PageantUpdater 06:24, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Two more things: first, apologies for putting this message on your user page (a mistake), second - posting a warning template on my talk page was more than a little heavy handed considering I posted explanations of my edits in the edit summaries at Jennifer Dupont to fully explain my actions. I see you are a new editor so I will accept this with latitude, but I suggest you check out Wikipedia's policies and get used to checking your watchlist and reading the edit summaries of others. PageantUpdater 06:29, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I suggest that if you wish to contest this you comment on the AFD rather than (or as well as) editing the fair use rationale... but per this and this I don't think you're going to have any luck. While it may not look like it, I'm on your side on this one but the precedent and the image cabal have more weight PageantUpdater 04:33, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Playboy edit

You recently added an image, a magazine cover, to the Playboy article. In the caption you put the words "On the cover..." but you didn't say what is on the cover. Is there something that you were trying to point out with this image? The woman on the cover isn't discussed in the accompanying text, so I don't think it's her who you were pointing out. Image noted for deletion edit

I can see you've written on my talk-page that one of the remaining pictures I've bothered to upload has been tagged for deletion. But if you wanna change the copyright, then DO IT YOURSELF! I've had enough of wikipedia's bureaucratic B.S., so I'm not gonna bother doing anything with photographs on this site anymore. Just found this picture, which illustrated the problem with wikipedia: Why bother finding a great picture (with POSSIBLE copyright), when you can take a paparazzi snapshot with a mobile-phone yourself, like this, for free: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:James_White_cropped.jpg - Yes, I know. It's a great picture, I'm sure nobody will sue us now. KnatLouie (talk) 23:46, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Avy/Sandbox edit

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as User:Avy/Sandbox, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. MfD nomination of User:Avy/Sandbox edit

User:Avy/Sandbox, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Avy/Sandbox and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Avy/Sandbox during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Alpha Quadrant talk 21:20, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Power Metal edit

I'm happy for Power Metal to go but can you please explain why it is not a proper source? Jamcad01 (talk) 06:39, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Metal: A Headbanger's Journey mischaracterized Dio era's Rainbow as Power metal, but immediately after Deep Purple's Stormbringer, Rainbow's 1st album (1975) still leaned on Blues rock, whilst maintaining a Hard rock direction. Dio era's Rainbow was partly inspired by classical music since Blackmore started playing cello to help him construct interesting chord progressions. For example, "Stargazer" or "Gates of Babylon" were written by playing cello. (See [1] [2]) Anyway, Power metal or Neo-classical metal are subgenres of Heavy metal. So Metal doesn't need to be said twice at same infobox field or category. Graham Bonnet and Joe Lynn Turner era's Rainbow differs from Rainbow's previous music style, because the music of Bonnet/Turner era were Hard rock rather than Heavy metal. In addition, Doogie White era's Rainbow consist of Dio & Turner's mixture style. For example, "Too Late for Tears" is very similar to "Can't Happen Here". (See [3]) --Avy (talk) 20:16, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I meant why it is unreliable not why Rainbow isn't Power Metal. Jamcad01 (talk) 06:20, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

The documentary film isn't proper source, because it was made by heavy metal fans Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen who aren't reliable music critics. --Avy (talk) 07:19, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Now hang on, this guy put hours of research into this film and was published. Honestly just because he was a fan doesn't mean he's unreliable. Any way I'm done talking to you Goodbye Jamcad01 (talk) 07:02, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Though Rainbow's 2nd/3rd albums belong to neo-classical metal, Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen confused Rainbow with Dio band (1983~2004) of Power metal. Dio band's musical style was influenced from Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell & Mob Rules, which don't have classic music elements. --Avy (talk) 08:29, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
