Speedy deletion nomination of Austin Songer edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Austin Songer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of User:Austinvernsonger/sandbox edit

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Austinvernsonger/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

— Train2104 (t • c) 19:00, 23 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Austinvernsonger/sandbox edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Austinvernsonger/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_Songer. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

February 2017 edit

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Austin Songer, to Wikipedia, as doing so is not in accordance with our policies. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Wikipedia:Your first article; you might also consider using the Article Wizard. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --Finngall talk 19:07, 23 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

In response to the note on the article talk page, since it is likely to get deleted along with the article: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not an advertising medium or a free web host. Wikipedia has standards for what subjects are considered notable enough to merit an article here, and merely being a congressional candidate on its does not meet those standards. Furthermore, we strongly discourage the creation of autobiographies for conflict of interest reasons. --Finngall talk 19:31, 23 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove speedy deletion notices from pages you created yourself, as you did at User:Austinvernsonger/sandbox, you may be blocked from editing. Chrissymad ❯❯❯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 19:29, 23 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your article edit

I would ask you to read WP:POLITICIAN which explains that standing for office does not of itself confer notability. Candidates who are not already incumbents of notable offices only have articles if they are shown to be notable by our standards. Please see WP:BIO about notability for people, and WP:RS about the reliable independent sources needed to prove the notability. Any coverage resulting from candidature does not count towards notability. Please also read WP:AUTOBIO which explains that we strongly do not recommend people to write about themselves. Wikipedia is not a place for advertising and promotion, and setting out your campaign material in the way you did is promotional and not allowed - please see WP:SPAM. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not social media like Facebook. There, so far as I am aware, you can have a campaign page without any worries about the policies that apply here. These rules apply to all candidates - incumbents may have an article as a result of their holding notable office, but they are not allowed to use Wikipedia for campaigning.   You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you create an inappropriate page, as you did at User:Austinvernsonger/sandbox/austinsonger. --Finngall talk 21:01, 23 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
