Speedy deletion nomination of Indians in overseas edit

A tag has been placed on Indians in overseas, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. July 2009 edit

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Indians in overseas. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Favonian (talk) 11:03, 20 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Indians in overseas edit

Hi Athelli Reddy - I notice you have created articles several times about the website Indians in overseas, first at Indians in overseas and now at Services for overseas indians. These articles have been deleted a number of times as advertising or promotional in nature and the current version has also been nominated for deletion for the same reason. Additionally, that website does not appear to be notable (at the moment) which is a requirement for articles on the Wikipedia encyclopedia. I understand your desire to increase the visibility of this site on the web; however, given that your articles have been deleted, I think there seems to be agreement that Wikipedia is not the best place for this at the current time. May I suggest you look at a number of other similar websites where you can list Indians in overseas? For example, AboutUs is a directory of websites, and WikiCompany, Yellowiki and MyWikiBiz list companies. You can find other alternative outlets here. I hope this information is helpful; please let me know if there's anything you need! --Kateshortforbob 10:55, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
