editThis is good. It is fairly easy to lose track of the fact that we are primarily about having good 'content' when we have all the discussions about naming controversies, which I am being to really dislike, and different perspectives on figures with reputations made somewhat dubious by their actions, like, say, jumping around on Oprah's couch.
I love the part saying the Golden Rule is something everybody seems to need to be reminded of, because it is fairly clearly true. It wouldn't have to be repeated so often if we knew how to do it anyway.
Some of us, myself included, clearly have what a lot of other people think of as weird ideas as to what's "fun", but it should still be something we consider. The world will not become a better place simply by us continuing to pound on the keyboards, and it's unreasonable to think it would.
Part of the problem I see once in a while is that there are a fair number of others whose idea of "fun" involves trying to demean others and just argue and that they tend to be involved in many/most of the serious arguments. I wish I would know how to effectively deal with them, but I don't think that anyone else ever has, so I probably shouldn't expect it of myself.
Good work again. Maybe a little expansion of some points might be helpful, but it is a good reminder of what we're trying to do. John Carter (talk) 21:21, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
