RfC on Nuclear Terrorism edit

Hi - I noticed you participated in the Nuclear Terrorism discussion; would you be willing to weigh in on this discussion? This is the second attempt at an RfC on these issues (the first was here). Thanks, csloat (talk) 19:28, 26 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Irish political parties edit

Hi there, I noticed in your edit on the Irish National Party, you mention it is still on the Registrar of political parties. I was wondering if that list is available online somewhere? Tx, Snappy (talk) 15:38, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sure. It's here: [1] and the document itself is here: [2] My understanding is that the National Party in particular is now known as the Christian Democrats (National Party), and its activities are limited to campaigning at referendums rather than elections. Note also that the register is a bit out of date. Recent issues of Iris Oifigiúil indicate that the Donegal Progressive Party and the PDs have been removed since April. Thank you, that's great. Snappy (talk) 16:05, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Not notable political party

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi I don't think the creator is supposed to simply remove the template like that, the instruction of what to were on the template, the reasons that I gave were also on the template, imo it might be better if you reverted and read the template and followed the instructions. Off2riorob (talk) 23:40, 11 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

No, it is ok but this is what is written on the template...It is proposed that this article be deleted.

If you can address this concern by improving, copyediting, sourcing, renaming or merging the page, please edit this page and do so. You may remove this message if you improve the article or otherwise object to deletion for any reason. However please explain why you object to the deletion, either in your edit summary or on the talk page. If this template is removed, it should not be replaced

FYI, the comment on the template was, not notable political party. Off2riorob (talk) 23:45, 11 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

You will note that I followed the instructions on the template that you posted: I objected to deletion and therefore removed the message. This seems perfectly clear to me. I don't have any problem with its being deleted if it's not notable by Wikipedia standards. It's just not clear to me whether this is the case. It would be ridiculous if I were to propose deletion of the old Belgian Socialist Party, say, for non-notability without giving reasons why it were not notable. My understanding is that there are five criteria; it is my opinion that the grounds for notability are strong but I could be convinced otherwise. I will not be convinced by a lack of reasons. AtSwimTwoBirds (talk) 00:12, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Please discuss there. I welcome your assertion of notability. Off2riorob (talk)

The article will for sure require some more wikipedia reliable third party sources to support notability..I found this....Some of the more obscure parties on the register for local elections include the Letterkenny Residents Party and the Workers and Unemployed Action Group (South Tipperary). I noticed you left a comment Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Rugby_union#Irish_flag. However I notice you didn't mention OI or OR. Did you consider these when you left your comments? Gnevin (talk) 18:16, 5 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Call for consensus/conclusion to current Ireland rugby union team icon edit

Hello, I am contacting you because you have been an active participant in the recent discussion on icon to be used for Ireland rugby union. I have tried to summarise the many strands and come to a conclusion based on what I perceive the consensus to be in this section - Summary of Ireland Flag discussion and suggested consensus conclusion. To move the issue to a conclusion I am asking all participants who have signed the discussion to read my summary and comment on the validity of the approach I have advocated, before the issue goes cold. I am keen that the enormous efforts of all contributors results in a tangible conclusion on this occasion.Kwib (talk) 16:48, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Washington Institute for Near East Policy edit

Dear AtSwimTwoBirds, Thanks for your input. I have read your thoughts and concerns on Talk:Washington Institute for Near East Policy, as well as that of other editors. I of course had some concerns myself, and I have made a suggestion on the talk page that leaves most of the article the exactly same way, but I have revised some of the issues of contention. What do you think of the suggestion? --Shamir1 (talk) 05:21, 24 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
