Hello, Astronomyspokesmann, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Draft:Department of Astronomy and Space-College of Science-University of Baghdad, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Hello jlwoodwa!
Thanks for your help and remarks about creating the page about Astronomy and Space department.
I have to ask, however, if I didn't mention that I work at the department, would the regulations still be considering my point of view as biased one? Sorry if this seems rude (not intended to be rude), but I am being honest about my ID and that should be a good sign of faith.
Please note
1-it is an official (state, public, non profit) academic department, not a private university or profitable business for me or any of the staff.
2- it's the only academic institution in Iraq that deals with astronomy and astrophysics (space) science, and people deserve to know anout it.
3- this department, since a few years ago, is representing Iraq in the international astronomical union IAU.
I think Wikipedia's main goal is to provide a free, global and professional encyclopedia about general interests. In this case, then, would you or any other interested person, prefer to read an article about this academic department, written by an amateur of astronomy or a pro in accounting, or by someone who teached there for more than 10 years?
I really appreciate your opinion, help and support. And sincerely ask for your help making this possible, as a seed article, and let others contribute/edit/delete contents.
Of not possible, I will delete the project. I feel obligated to put some light on this department due to its importance, but if the rules of Wikipedia does not allow this for me, then it will not be my burden anymore.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hello Ahmed! The Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guideline has some subtleties, one of which is that COI is not simply bias. I appreciate that you were honest about your relationship with the department and made a good-faith disclosure. My message was purely informative, and I wasn't implying that you'd done anything wrong.
While first-hand experience can be useful when writing an article, Wikipedia's goals of verifiability and neutrality mean that articles shouldn't be directly based on that experience. Instead, they should be based on what's found in independent, reliable sources. So an article written by an amateur of astronomy or a pro in accounting isn't necessarily worse. Conversely, someone who teached there is likely to have certain problems editing where they have a conflict of interest – not always, but frequently. That's why COI edits should always be reviewed by an independent editor, whether through Articles for creation or edit requests. If you can write impartially about your department, to the same standards that are expected of every Wikipedia editor, your contributions will be welcomed regardless of your COI. jlwoodwa (talk) 02:46, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi Jlwoodwa!
Thanks for your detailed reply. I've read the Wikipedia links about COI and I think I got the idea that editors or creators should state facts about the subject without any biased opinion. I hope I met this. I've been adding few lines every now and then to the article, without any personal statement or something like that, support most info by a reference or two (non of which are mine). So, I wish that went well.
Please note that what I meant was that, someone who teaches there knows all those details about courses, formation, activities, studies, facilities, history...etc better than others. Of course all opinions and impressions are important and have their own unique values, I know and believe in this. Sorry if it seems that I was underestimating other's opinions, I wasn't, honestly.
Thanks again for your help! Astronomyspokesmann (talk) 16:12, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello Diannaa!
Thanks for the help and detailed explanation. I saw that copyright flag but I thought it was about the images I added. That's Why I didn't resolve it immediately, because the images are all my own work.
I will refer to that document properly, without quotation, rephrasing or auto translation. It's an important source to the article since it indicates the role of the institution in Iraq as seen by the IAU.
Thanks again, I appreciate your help. Astronomyspokesmann (talk) 01:40, 12 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your recent article submission has been rejected and cannot be resubmitted. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Ktkvtsh was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: This does not qualify as notable. It reads like a promotional page for the University. This could instead be mentioned in the College of Science – University of Baghdad article.
