Your recent edit on the page Hot Fuzz added information that already existed in the article and was reverted or removed because your contribution was considered redundant. When editing, please read through the article to make sure the content you wish to add is not already present. If you wish to provide additional information for an article, please remember that all content on Wikipedia must be based on reliable sources which are to be identified within the article. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 02:51, 13 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have noticed that you have added some unsourced content and that you aren't using edit summaries. If you need any help let me know but pls describe the changes you make in the edit summary window just above "save."

This is the guide to referencing that I used when I started out: Help:Introduction_to_referencing

Answering your questions...

edit

Hi! I noticed that you recently complained about my work. Answers to your complaints: 1.) EDIT SUMMARIES ARE PURELY OPTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2.)I usually make small edits that don't require citations. Kind Regards, Asmym xix (talk) 18:21, 13 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Edit summaries are not mandatory but they are highly recommended. Almost all experienced editors use edit summaries, as they are important in a collaborative editing environment. Adding a reference (citation) to any factual claim that may be challenged is policy and is the only way to ensure that your contributions won't be challenged. This is a collaborative project. Please assume good faith of other editors, and consider their suggestions as friendly advice. Thank you. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:37, 13 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi Asmym xix. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding; I wasn't complaining about your edits, I said that I noticed you weren't using edit summaries or citations and offered to help you if you were having trouble. I also left you a link in case you needed it. The reason I did this is some of your edits were flagged by a program I use to detect wikipedia vandalism, but when I had a closer look at your work I could see that wasn't the case at all.. I also noticed that you had asked a question at the Teahouse on how to reference. I hope this clears things up. Best wishes Flat Out let's discuss it 23:19, 13 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks !

Thank you for your info regarding eit summaries and citations!I'll do my best to add them in to my add them in my future edits. P.S: What tipped you off to the fact that I wasn't putting these things in my edits.

Any editor who has an article you edit on their watchlist will see your edit summary, or the lack of an edit summary, each time they review their watchlist. When I see an edit by a well-established editor with a clear, policy-based edit summary, I think "great" and move on. When I see an edit with no summary, by an unknown (to me) editor without a positive and informative user page, I think "is this a problematic edit?", and take a closer look. It is the basics of positive social interaction. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 23:58, 13 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Users are free, within reasonable limits, to put whatever they wish on their user pages. My follow-up question is: Why do you think that the current version of your user page would inspire confidence among other editors that you are here to collaborate in building an encyclopedia? STOP LEAVING ME RUDE MESSAGES

edit

When I see a message on my talk page by a well-meaning editor wanting to clear up an issue with me, I say great and move on. When I see an section on my talk page by a, (to me) unknown editor I think "why is this person leaviing me an unprofessional and unpolite answer to my perfectly courteous message?" P.S:My user page is not supposed to be some grand piece of art. Its supposed to make someone laugh, put a smile on someone's face. And if you can't appreciate that, please leave my talk page. Now if you excuse me, I have bigger fish to fry, Asmym xix (talk) 00:50, 14 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

You did ask for help at the Teahouse, where I am a host, didn't you? I will take your talk page off my watch list. Third parties can judge who has been rude here. I wish you every success in your Wikipedia editing. Take care. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:09, 14 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have to agree with Asmym xix, Cullen 328 was being very rude. Kind Regards, Cryptideditor (talk) 18:43, 19 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts

edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Asmym xix, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
