Hi Askolsun. To avoid this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elif_%C5%9Eafak article reading like a PR piece about Ms. Elif Shafak, there needs to be a NPOV. I am aware that there indeed was a letter of support from Zadie Smith, but this does not change the FACT that there was a controversy about plagiarism and this controversy (again, controversy does not point to factuality per se) is legitimately sourced. So since you seem to be the expert on Ms. Shafak, I will leave it to your good hands to weave this controversy into the article using NPOV. Elif Shafak

Hi Askolsun. Thanks for this edit on Elif Shafak. I have reverted this and restored the old lead section as per WP:LEAD; a lead section should only provide a brief overview of the topic and summarise the rest of the article. The content you added should be added to the body of text before added to the lead. Although it's great that you included references, it is better if a lead section has limited references and instead summarised referenced content in the main section. ,

I suggest if you wish to restore this content you added, maybe integrate it into the relevant sections (e.g. "Career" or "accolades") before adding it to the lead section. It's also good to keep in mind we try to avoid what is called WP:PUFFERY on Wikipedia; only particularly notable awards should be included, and described in a neutral tone. Of course, also please refer to WP:BLP which sets out how biographical articles should be set out. Please go to the talk page if you have any queries. Cheers.
