This message is about WikiProject Orissa. I observed that you've created a new WikiProject Orissa template and added it to a few articles. While your intention to help is appreciated, I wish to explain to you that WikiProject Orissa is not a separate WikiProject but only a descendant of WikiProject India. This being the case it is simply enough if you add {{orissa=yes}} in order to add articles to Orissa taskgroup. If you wish the picture to appear in WikiProject India tagging you could very well approach an administrator over this. If you intend to create a WikiProject with your own system of tagging, templates, naming conventions, etc., I advice you to create a separate WikiProject, than interefere with this particular taskgroup, which follows the system defined in WikiProject India.

By the way, if you need any help in refurbishing WikiProject Orissa, do not hesitate to contact me. I am planning to create an Orissa portal in the near future. If you are free, do drop in by :-). Bye for now. tc. -The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 02:13, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've completely revived WikiProject Orissa. Do visit the project's homepage.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 12:09, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Template:WikiProject Orissa

edit

A tag has been placed on Template:WikiProject Orissa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 13:30, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

No bullets

edit

Hello Asitmonty,

Thanks for asking. I have no objection to the changes you told me about. As I am not from Orissa, I would defer to your having a clearer idea of what plants and animals are worth mentioning (at least I didn't include tulips and house pets on the lists). Both the Flora of Orissa and Fauna of Orissa have the nice ring of a stand-alone articles, I think.

As for bullets,

  • I
  • Tend
  • To
  • Like
  • The
  • Clean
  • Look
  • They give to an article

-- Over, The, Comma'd, Sentence, Form, but,

-- the choice is a subjective one either way, so have at it!

Bhubaneswar copyedit

Dear Asitmonty,

I have observed that you are quite interested in editing pages related to Odisha. The Bhubaneswar page currently lies in shambles and need heavy copyedits and information. I would request you, if possible try to edit the article to make it in a proper state. Thanks in advance. Amartyabag TALK2ME 08:48, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Odisha Budget

edit

Hello, Asitmonty,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Odisha Budget should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Odisha Budget .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Vanjagenije (talk) 11:12, 24 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello Asitmonty, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Municipal Corporations in India has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:44, 29 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
