Alright, I fixed that infobox for you. At least I think I fixed the right one. Was it One Night in Carcosa that needed to be fixed? --Wildnox 20:04, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

The problem was really just unclosed brackets(wiki format read the whole rest of the page afterwards as a bad link). Also, you can sign you comments, messages, and responses on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) -Wildnox 20:11, 10 December 2006 (UTC) Reply

Re: Job for a Cowboy edit

Hi, the problem is still with the sourcing. The ones I looked at were mostly directory entries (eg. [1] and the tour dates), forum entries (eg. [2]), or web 2.0 sites where the readers can submit content (eg. [3]). None of those are reliable sources and the article as it is right now probably wouldn't survive an afd. If you can find the magazines you mentioned on the deletion review, that would help. More reliable website sources would also help, but I couldn't find anything besides performance date mentions (which are explicitly excluded per WP:MUSIC) on google news or factiva. - Bobet 11:55, 20 January 2007 (UTC) Reply

Your Signature edit

Hey Asics, I was wondering if you could reduce the size of your signature, as it is bigger than the text usually used here on Wikipedia. If you were to sign your name under another line of text, it could mess up the alignment due to the extra space needed for your signature.

Thanks in advance,

S h a r k f a c e 2 1 7 01:00, 21 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Could you also make your signature less of an incredible contrast? This can get annoying after a while. especially with the white background.—Ryūlóng () 03:31, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

It has improved greatly. S h a r k f a c e 2 1 7 04:30, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:Job for a Cowboy edit

I believed it was ready. However, Bobet reminded me that this should not have been done at requests for page protection, but at deletion review. I'm sorry, but we need more of a "consensus" (which is attained at deletion review) to re-create the article in the mainspace. Sorry, but that's just how it is (I forgot that part when I made the change). Please open a deletion review by following the links I have given. Cbrown1023 19:38, 20 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

I'm afraid not. The logo itself is copyrighted, and fan art of it counts as a derivative work, and so is actually covered by the same copyright. Your best bet would be a photo of the band that has been released into the public domain, but, sadly, the article does not include any. Perhaps just a generic picture of a guitar or something? Contact me if I can be of any help- I don't really want to join the project, as I have no intention of editing Trivium related articles, but I am happy to help you with whatever you need help with. Another note- don't mention Wikiproject Trivium in the article, instead, create a talk page box, something like this one. I can give you a hand with that, if you like. Also, it would be nice to have a footer box, something like this one to go at the bottom of articles. Again, contact me if I can be of any help. J Milburn 11:33, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Again, I am sorry, they are all copyrighted. It would have to be a free image. J Milburn 11:43, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Much better. The page could do with a bit of a cleanup, I will do that now. Something you need to remember about section and page titles is explained here. J Milburn 11:56, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rock music Wikiproject invitation edit

Hello WikiProject Metal member.
WikiProject Metal music is important in expanding encyclopedic coverage of the metal. It brings attention to the lesser-known bands, and significantly improves the quality of the famous ones. Five Featured articles and two formers is proof of that.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently resurrected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and embrace the links between metal and rock music in general.
Rock on.

AfD nomination of Oliver Sykes edit

I've nominated Oliver Sykes, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Oliver Sykes satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oliver Sykes and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Oliver Sykes during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. RJASE1 Talk 18:12, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationales edit

If you look at the current license of the first image on that page, it says "To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Help:Image page#Fair use rationale, as well as the source of the work and copyright information." The fair use rationale is used to tell other editors or people reading the article that even though you do not own the rights to the image since you didn't create it, you are still using it to illustrate for educational purposes on Wikipedia. Some examples of a fair use rationale for some of the images I've added include Image:Smokin-poster2.jpg, Image:Bluesbrotherssoundtrack.jpg and Image:Mcveighmugshot.jpg. I'd recommend searching through the GA/FAs that have similar topics to your article, as you're more likely to find a fair use rationale that would be more appropriate for your logos on the page. Let me know if you need more clarification or have any other questions. --Nehrams2020 21:01, 11 March 2007 (UTC) Reply

Bring Me the Horizon edit

Please read our policy on sources: WP:ATT. Specifically note the part that says: "The burden of evidence lies with the editor wishing to add or retain the material."

Also please note that vandals had recently been adding nonsense to the Trivia section. Sorry but I'd rather risk removing content that might be accurate that risk leaving in vandal's nonsense. AlistairMcMillan 17:37, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Note that one of the points of citing sources is so people can use them to check the accuracy of the content they are supposed to be citing. Have you read that Kerrang article? I had a search around online and I can't find it anywhere. AlistairMcMillan 23:47, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Trivium edit

YES objection. Just because they themselves say theyre thrash metal does not make them so. They are just using this lately to try market themselves as real metal (See: front cover of latest MetalHammer magazine). Across of the cover of that mag, it said "Trivium: Destroyers of False Metal" and the quote from matt heafy: "Fuck metalcore...We're for real". Which is complete idiocy. Their new material may be influenced by early Metallica, but does not change the fact that they are a METALCORE band. They were always a metalcore band before they included a Metallica influence. This makes them a metalcore band (early), thrash metal- influenced metalcore band (recent). Still, its important to realise that any sources such as myspace and anything the band/promoters are responsible for, is biased as a marketing tool. "Heavy metal" sells. The Godfather image edit

No, it is a fair use image. Put simply (with very, very very few exceptions) there should be no fair use images outside of the userspace. That includes the Wikipedia space, the User space, the template space, even the portal space, along with the less commonly breached category space, the various talk spaces and the others (MediaWiki and that). Anyways, a user box is purely decoration, and is to be used only in the user space, so no. I admit, finding an image for a copyrighted film is extremely difficult, so words, numbers or generic pictures are often used. Of course, the copyright has expired on some films, or images are in the public domain for other reasons. If you haven't already, take a look at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Media/Film to see how other film userboxes have been made. J Milburn 15:35, 14 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ah, I was just going to go and remove it from the userspace, and I saw that it was your adoptee who had it there. I'll leave it to you to explain to them. Happy editing. J Milburn 15:37, 14 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure, apparently I have no experience with creating Wikiprojects. Sorry if I make you worry about the "official" thing, I suppose nothing needs to be done here. Your project is already established, when a project works and helps improving Wikipedia, then it's fine. As far as I know, the council proposal page is meant for projects to get support, in other words, to prevent a project being made with no participants and eventually become inactive. Trivium is going well (with active members), so I guess it's okay... PeaceNT 17:34, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Trivium move mess edit

I deleted the remains of Trivium on the subject of the education, was reverted as someone mistook Maurauth's move as vandalism. I then moved Trivium (band) to Trivium. I am now going to check to ensure no edits were made to Trivium while the 'correct' article was at Trvium (education) that were worth keeping, and make sure that all links to 'Trivium' are for the band, and not the education system. I will also add a For the education system... line at the top.

I suspect that the band is more notable, or, at least, more likely to be searched for, and so I can't see there being much objection. I don't feel strongly either way, but I doubt anyone will mind. J Milburn 15:36, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
